I was charged $100 to clean a dirty wheel by the dealer (Potomac Mills Mower) who sold the mower (model 20091). I had documentation that the mower had only 20 hours of use, because I write down the operating time at each refueling. 40 half-hour mowings. The dealer charged $100 for service, saying that dirt and grass was compacted into the mechanism. Since there were no broken parts, the repair was not covered by warranty. I argued that I had maintained the mower according to the instructions, but did not convince the dealer to submit the charge to Toro as a warranty claim. I followed the maintenance instructions carefully, so the repair should be covered by the warranty.
I wrote a letter to the customer care department, including the sales receipt, the repair receipt, the warranty registration card, and a copy of the page showing the date of each mowing. Toro replied with a letter, saying "tough luck", and asking me never to buy another Toro. The letter also asked me to inform other people who might buy a mower from Potomac Mills Mower that they should instead visit Home Depot.
