I booked a traveling vineyard home party on November 8th 2009.  My consultant arrived on time and ready to go.  I had 8 guests attend my party, and all was well...After my party closed, my consultant informed me that I needed to have sales  of at least $250.00 worth of merchandise to qualify for either free shipping {which averages approx. $8 a bottle} or 1 bottle of wine.  She asked me if I preferred red or white, I told her white, with the intent on selecting one of the favorites from the party as my "free" gift. She then informed me that I would not be able to select my "free" bottle, that they would just send me some random bottle.  What?  Today she called me stating that in fact I had over $250.00 in sales but unfortunately the company JUST changed thier policy and I needed to have over $280.00 in sales.  If the company JUST changed thier policy I feel I should still get my "free" bottle of wine that I GET TO SELECT!!! So after mailing the invites, buying and preparing $50 worth of party food, having my home "party ready"  I in turn get NOTHING!!  Great idea guys!!  Run,and run fast from this company, like the earlier rip-off reports, all I got out of this was to make money for the traveling vineyard, and got stuck with sour grapes!!! I have been a wine consultant with the Traveling vineyard for over a year. Your consultant brought you five free bottles of wine to share with your friends. This is the hostess benefit plan:

Sales up to $249 - Five free bottles of wine

Sales from $250 to $500 - the above, plus 1 additional free bottle, chosen by the Vineyard, you choose the color, 10% off your own order and free shipping

$500 to 750 - Five free bottles, one additional free bottle of higher quality, 20% off your own order - free shipping.

In addition, if two people book a party, the hostess gets one item from the catalog for 1/2 price.

Shipping does NOT average $8 a bottle. Shipping is 8.95 for up to an entire case of wine. Sales need to be $250, not $280, the policy never changed.

Your consultant should have explained the party benefits to you, however all home party plans have a limit of benefits, based on sales at your party.

My hostesses and hosts are so happy they host multiple parties a year.
