This is part of my series of reports related to the activities of Paul Ephremson [possibly spelled Ephremsen in some places] and a U.K. "company" named ID_Experiential.

In yesterday's update involving a sweepstakes scam company called either GCR or GRC, I noted that I wanted to update my report on Ephremson, and meant to but failed to note that I couldn't figure out how to do that.

This time, I've decided it's probably better after all to have the name of suspected affiliate companies out there on separate reports anyway.

Note:  These two follow-up reports are "suspicions of" only, based either on timing, similar pattern, or both.

I think this entity, The Write Society, is where the intrusion actually began.

I suspect the association with Paul Ephremson and ID_Experiential because of the timing of events.

Regardless of The Write Society's affiliation with, or lack thereof, with Ephremson and ID_Experiential U.K., The Write Society is indeed running an employment scam.

They recruit through as I recall, CraigsList, and are allegedly hiring writers to do "website reviews."

A prerequisite to get paid is responding to the confirmation e-mails from the websites:  except you don't ever get most of them.  And e-mails both to their "freelancer service" and their "technical" people go unanswered.

Further, several of the websites for "review" get flagged as displaying "risky behaviors," -- but, because you believe you are reviewing websites as a freelance gig, you are more likely than normal to take the chance on going forward to the website.

I have had two computer failures starting not long after that, although the first was a physical problem [a clogged fan] and probably coincidental.

The second, however, may have been triggered by the actions of intruders.

This pattern:  use an employment scam to get the victim to visit a risky website and gain unauthorized access, never meaning to actually pay for the work, corresponds with the pattern exhibited by Paul Ephremson and ID_Experiential U.K.

Which, in this case, is why I suspect them.

As it happened, even as I wrote this report up, I got a pop-up notice on my computer that the Malware detector software that the remediators put on my computer successfully blocked another attempt at unauthorized access.

The Write Society is definitely an employment scam.  They definitely try to recruit people for work that they never intend to pay for.

They also definitely send you to review sites that can be portals for intruders to your computer(s) over the Internet.

I do not with certainty know if it is affiliated with Paul Ephremson and ID_Experiential UK, but by pattern and timing of events it certainly looks that way to me.

The Write Society had a phone number at one time, but that is now out of service.
