TheatreLand Ltd is a London-based scam ring that buys up domains in different cities around the world and stays updated on different local shows to seem local and legit. The site in particular that fooled me was chicago-theater.com. They sell tickets to vulnerable purchasers who aren't familiar with reasonable tickets prices marked up 4 to 5 times the legitimate price. They often sell "tickets" before they actually buy real ones. In our case, they "sold" me 4 tickets to see Hamilton in Chicago for almost $3,000. Since it is so popular, I thought it was pricey but worth it. It turns out, real tickets don't go on sale until June 21, 2016 (4 days from today). I called the legitimate sellers and they informed me that TheatreLand probably won't be getting tickets anyway due to the high demand and my family won't be getting Christmas.
