Thedigitalnerds.com bait and switch scammer Ripoff Internet

On June 3, 2007, I ordered a Canon SD630 digital camera from this outfit. Their quoted price was lowest of a number of sources and the camera appeared to be new (no indication that this was a refurbished item). Within an hour of placing the order (Citibank VISA charge using Citibank Virtual Account Number) I received a call "confirming" my order. The caller then informed me that I had not ordered an extra memory card and an extra battery. He insisted I would need these because the card was "good for 2 pictures" and the battery "would last 15 minutes". I told him I thought he was wrong, but in any event, if I needed additional memory cards or batteries I had a good local source at much better prices than his. He then informed me that the item was refubished and that a new camera would cost me another $40. I told him his website said nothing about a refurbished item and I directed him to cancel the order. Then I discovered the Ripoff Report website (and a few others with similar reports on this scammer). Let's hope we can put this guy and his ilk out of business.
