Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...
I used Thumbtack as a resource when i was searching for a landscape contractor. The impression Thumbtack gives to the public is that they vet and background check the companies they represent. This, however, is not the case. I hired a landscape contractor which was referred to me by Thumbtack only to find he is a known scammer. He is not licensed to do business in North Carolina and has scammed several others in the same way in which he scammed me. Had it not been for the referral from Thumbtack, i would have never contacted this company. As it stands, I paid this person $4100 and have nothing to show for it.

The same exact thing happened to me on 9/14/2016. I hired a "professional" "electrician" from thumbtack who has been scamming people from 2012. I too trusted that thumbtack did background checks, verified license and insurance of these contractors but obviously not. I called thumbtacks to report this scam artist that they promote and they told me its my fault that I trusted the guy and I should have verified his information. Wow! They took no liability or accountability for promoting scam artists. I'm thinking they get a cut. I plan to sue them. Just piling up evidence to move forward. Spread the word that thumbtack are scammers like the contractors they are promoting.
