Purchased a Onkyo A/V Receiver TX NR626 on Oct 19, 2013. Receiver died on December 15, 2013. Less than 3 months old. CBL/Sat HDMI quit working and then surround sound went out. Took it back to where purchased at Tiger Direct Dadeland store in Miami and all manager could say was NO to exchange, No to what they could do to help and NO to are you concerned with customer service.

I think he was special or a robot and only knew one word...NO. Did not offer to get address of Onkyo or anything. Onkyo expects me to mail this reciver back to NJ and pay for trip both ways. This thing is heavy and will probably cost upwards of $100. TERRIBLE product and TERRIBLE store. Will NEVER buy from them again or another ONKYO product.

They talked me out of a Yamaha and now I am paying for it. And in case anyone says otherwise I had my receipt and just wanted an exchange so I could have my Christmas with family friends and music. Bah Humbug on these two companies.

Schill for Tiger Direct

AUTHOR: aviationr - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, August 27, 2014

In case you have a reading problem it was with in the 3 months. Sound like a plant by Tiger Direct. A Rick Martin emailed me from the store but when I tried contacting him back there was NO response. A really sucky company that will probably fold soon I hope!

Onkyo is generally a good product..

Also, most sellers have return policies that in no way extend to almost 3 month.  After the return policy expires, the manufacturer is responsible for repairs. This is NOT just Tiger Directs policy.

" Onkyo expects me to mail this reciver back to NJ and pay for trip both ways. This thing is heavy and will probably cost upwards of $100."This is a little surprising as most manufacturers have the item taken to an authorized repair center.  I repaired home entertainment electronics for years and was authorized for most major brands and all the customer had to do was bring the unit in with proof of purchase to get warranty service.

Don't blame Tiger Direct or any other seller for something the mfr. SHOULD and will take care of.

Don't shoot yourself in the foot and see if you can take the receiver in for repair.
