 This company towed my daughter car from a business that was literally right next door.  Literally the buildings were connected.  That's not the complaint.  The complaint is that my daughter parked in the lot of a closed barber shop to attend a church festival about 2 blocks away.   She checked for signs and there were NO signs posted warning of possible towing and there were NO signs posted stating that parking was for customers only.  Now my daughter is only 16 as was most of the demographic at that festival.  This company towed her car literally about 20 yards to behind the gate of their yard and then charged her $170 to get her car back.   Florida statute 715.07 says you cannot tow a car unless it is clearly a private RESIDENCE or unless there are signs posted that your car may be towed OR if 20 spaces or less there must be a sign stating that parking is for customers only.

Therefore, they illegally towed the car, made her pay cash and didn't give a receipt.  There were a number of irate customers that night.  Whether their cars were towed legitimately or not I don't know.  However I believe this company was taking advantage of the church festival and targeting these people to make a quick buck.

It's inexcuseable and they should not be allowed to get away with this.
