Tire Discounters, Brentwood, Ohio Tire Discounters on Winton Rd. damaged my truck Cincinnati, Ohio

I took my truck to TD on Winton Rd in Cincinnati for 5 new Michelin tires.  The price was a bit more than Bob Summeral up the street and it did not come with any extras like a road hazard plan.  They told me to bring the truck back after a few hundred miles to get the wheels re-torqued.  So, I did.

The man that re-torqued the lug nuts did not know what torque setting to use.  So he opened the door of a small sedan in the shop and looked at the sticker inside the door.  I don't know why he didn't use the settings on my truck.  He then pretended to adjust the torque wrench (I am a mechanic & very familiar with the process).  After that he went to every lug nut on each wheel, with truck on the ground and the full weight of it on the wheels, and started torquing away.   The lugs were creaking and groaning as this guy pretended to know what he was doing.

Then the noises began.  The thumping & bumping and grinding noises. 

Wheels & tires are big deal to the safety of the truck and I was already very suspicious of TD.   So, on one Saturday I removed the front right wheel myself.  Two lugs were so over-torqued that they twisted off easily.  The others were so stripped that that I had to use a breaker bar on them.   I replaced 6 lugs that day, and lost a precious Saturday.

The noises changed, but were still present.  All-in-all, i replaced all 6 lugs on both right wheels, and the left rear.  The guys at the auto parts store asked me why I kept coming in for more lugs.  As soon as I said "Tire Discounters on Winton Rd." they cringed.  They said they had heard this story several times before.

The wheel that came off the left rear is now in the spare tire bay, even though it really isn't a viable spare.  The lug holes on the wheel are so badly damaged that this wheel is ruined and no longer safe.  It will have to be replace at more expense.

The Michelin tires are as good as always.  However, anyone that trusts the Winton Rd. Tire Discounters in Cincinnati is risking the safety of everyone in the vehicle.
