Tire Kingdom,  Installed Smaller Cheaper Tires than on Receipt and Purchased ,Bait and Switch, Harvey Louisiana

I purchased tires from Tire Kingdom in Harvey, Louisiana on the evening of Feb. 18, 2014. The tires were listed on the buy two get two free promotion. Of course two tires are not really free as the promotion requires the purchases of several over priced services associated with the tires. The retail carry out price of one of these tires was $178.99 but buy the time you paid for two on the promotion the cost was $706. So, obviously two tires are not free.

It was dark when my SUV was brought to me completed. I attempted to read the size of the tires installed but I could not make it out as there was some type of grease over the small numbers. I was able to examine the tires the next day during daylight hours and was able to determine that the tires installed were size 255 not 265 as I purchased. It appears the grease over the numbers on the tires was to conceal the size of the tires.

I have reported this incident to the Better Business Bureau and other consumer support agencies. When reviewing Tire Kingdom on the website of the BBB, it indicated that the company across the country had more than 1215 complaints closed in the past three years. It also indicated that the complaints were closed by Tire Kingdom providing the service or part as was initially requested by consumer. The BBB also indicated that Tire Kingdom does not appear to have corrected their bad practices. Based on this information, it appears that Tire Kingdom is attempting to cheat or defraud some customers and correct the issue if caught and reported. In my case, this appeared to be a very obvious bait and switch. After wasting hours of my time, simply providing what I previously paid for is not enough. I have gotten fed up with the plethora of crooked business defrauding customers.

I am exploring getting a class action lawsuit against Tire Kingdom based on their practices as indicated on the BBB website and other consumer complaint data. Please share this email address with any others you may know that experienced such a problem. It is my intent to stop this business from unethical business practices by hitting them where all corporations feel, in the pocket. I doubt that Tire Kingdom realized I have functioned as a consumer advocate when they did this act. They may be getting the idea that I am not the average customer.
