I pawned my car title with title bucks. I get everything signed and cash the check. Then when my first payment is due I ask them how much do I owe and they tell me the minimum balance and I pay it. I go the next month to pay it and see a new person working there. I ask this new employee how much my payment is this time and she tells me the minimum but also informs me that if I only pay the minimum balance that nothing is going to the payment it's just the finance charge. This is absurd. I think it is illegal for them to not use any of the minimum payment towards the principle. It all goes to finance charge. They should have to tell customers this before they pawn their car title. And my father has had the same problem with them. He has been paying them for 2 years on a vehicle. He has paid them well over what he borrowed from them plus the interest. We would like to speak to a lawyer and see what our options are as far as a lawsuit against these leeches and get our titles back.

Typical...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

The typical "sub-prime" attitude.  Where it is funny you didn't have any issues when they allowed you to borrow the money.  Probably because you have credit that is so messed up that a regular lender won't touch you with a 10 foot pole.

Where they could have had you agree to just about anything and you would have.  However, the fact is that everything is disclosed when you got the loan.  Well unless you are going to tell us you signed a blank piece of paper.

So of course you can PAY an attorney to try and sue them.  But the attorney will just tell you that there is no law that says a payment has to go to Principal.  They will also tell you that if you want your title you need to pay off the loan.  Where the option is to pay it off as fast as you can or failing to do that you will have the car reposessesed.   So perhaps you should put that money you want to pay the attorney toward the balance.

By the way in your case you say your dad has the same issues for TWO years.  Even if you didn't read what you were actually signing..didn't that clue you in about this loan.
