TiVo rebate ripoff Intentional rebate runaround Alviso California

For the TiVo $150 rebate offer, you are told to submit the UPC sticker from the box and fill out the rebate form, including the SERIAL NUMBER of the unit on the form. However, once you send this in, they will tell you that your rebate has been denied. I was told three different reasons for this by three different people. The first told me I had submitted a "duplicate" serial number. The second told me I had submitted a "fraudulent" serial number. The third told me I must have written the number down wrong. I went back, double checked the number, which was exactly as I had originally written it down. Again, I was told it was the wrong number--that the "correct" serial number was 15 digits long. It was only after sleuthing around for other "numbers" associated with my product that I found something called a TSN (Tivo Service Number). Turns out, that is the number they want--BUT THEY WON'T TELL YOU THAT!!!
