Todd Twine Saint Anthony Construction --Unprofessional, marginal workmanship Bedford, New Hampshire

We recently had to fire this contractor after enduring five long months of work, rework, and more rework going on in our basement which still is not finished.  We were given an initial timeframe of 12-14 weeks  and approximately $34k estimate.  After making some changes in the first 8 weeks we were prepared to have to go beyond the timeframe inititially quoted, however, Todd gave us three different end dates and overran them all.  After 4 1/2 months, we finally gave him three weeks to finish and asked him to leave prior to the end of the three weeks as he was continually showing up late or not at all.  His quality of work is marginal as too many things are not done right the first time, have to be reworked, and then show the marks from being reworked. 

Todd's mode of operation was get a check, start a project, don't finish, get a check, start a project, don't finish, etc.  We made the mistake of trusting that he would go back and finish all the things that were half done but in the end, the only part of the basement that was finished was the bathroom and that was only because we wouldn't let him work on anything else until everything on the bathroom checklist was done. 

The rework started with the sheetrocking, that took 4 weeks to finish, and then still wasn't finished because days and days were spent patching, sanding and reworking areas.  Even now we still have areas that were patched but not sanded or painted.  There are many uneven areas on the walls and the ceiling in the bathroom has lots of areas that should have been done better.  Todd was not around to supervise the sheetrocking on most days and then would have the workers redo and redo and redo because the framing was uneven and so was the sheetrocking. 

The painting was done but there are still many areas where the sheetrocking patches are showing through or the paint wasn't put on properly and doesn't cover the white.  There are also many areas where Todd splattered other colors of paint on the walls so they need to be gone over again to cover up the splatters.  He used our new bathroom sink to rinse off rollers/brushes but didn't clean the sink afterwards so now our new sink has different color splotches left on the vanity and sink fixtures that are set in. 

Many things were completely paid for but few things were completely done.  Bar cabinets installed by splitting the back when the plumbing didn't line up, no hardware installed, lights and switches not completely done or not done at all, baseboards not completely done, TV built-ins not complete or not done at all,  doors were all too short had to be redone with patches, the list goes on.  We finally asked him to leave when he showed up for work at 3:30 in the afternoon.  After Christmas, snowmobiling became more important than working on Friday afternoons and most Monday mornings. Todd routinely showed up for work between 10 and 11, except for the first month. 

Please do not trust this person with your home remodeling projects.  You will only regret it.
