My daughter Dawn who is disabled was so excited when she rented a duplex from this man. She can't afford much since she only gets a small SSI ck. It was very small 1 bedroom, 1 bath, small kitchen & small living room but she loved it & was independent. She liked him & thought she could trust him. She started to get elec bills in the 80's & 90's then as soon as April came & it got hot & air was on it started every month got higher & higher into 164., 259, 224, 226. + She told him & asked him to ck into this it can't be. He looked sd no reason, she called again, he sd oh you like it cold. She got turned off a couple of times, had no elec & borrowed from us, went to churches for help.
Well I got tired of her upset all the time & living w/no air since she was afraid to turn it on but that didn't change anything. Well I called an A/C place they took one look upstairs & sd they would not work on it it was a total mess & that she was cooling the attic & she was also supplying neighbors. I called the County since there was mold too. they came & sd many violations. He showed up today & was mad that we called the County, sd he was fixing it by putting in a return duct. She asked about the 1,550. in elec bills she paid & now another bill for 237. due tues or she gets shut off plus another one due in Oct for 250. He said that's your problem! I never thought he was a slum lord, we liked him but to do this to a disabled person?

This report needs to be updated, we never thought he was a slum lord & we were right. I was very upset when I first wrote this & felt there was nowhere to turn. Unfortunately someone else in the family added on to my comments
when I left the page on & went to talk on the phone then turned it off. Tony called me & even offered to pay half of the electric bill which he did. He also had the whole system fixed so it wouldn't happen again. We have found him a man of his word plus very caring. We might have started out on the wrong foot but now I can't think of any landlord I would want for my daughter then him. He is very fare & if anything makes it as easy to afford for his tenants as he can. I'm sorry some of those comments were added that I did not find out about till now!
