Tonya Harrison Engages in Fraudulent Business Practices, Attempts to Extort Her Clients Tonya Harrison, extortion, fraud, blackmail, threats of violence, scam, scammer Westminster Colorado

 Tonya Harrison was retained by our theatrical production company to provide playbill/program ad sales services. In this regard, she was paid a flat rate plus a significant commission for her efforts. At no time was Tonya Harrison an employee of our company but was an independent contractor. Tonya Harrison holds herself out as being an expert on sales and direct door-to-door work.

During the three weeks she was under contract, it became clear that Tonya Harrison was engaging in two fraudulent activities: First, she submitted false time sheets, claiming compensation for time she was not in the field. Second, she had the audacity to submit requests for commissions for ad sales she did not make. (Obviously, this is easy to prove -- either an ad was sold, or an ad was not sold.)

When asked to itemize her time rather than simply submit a total of hours, Tonya Harrison became abusive and theatening. Indeed, she ultimately posted threats of physical violence against at least one staff member of our company on her Facebook page. When she was asked to provide the names of the businesses to which she contends she sold ads, she became even more threatening.

At this juncture, we learned that Tonya Harrison submitted a fraudulent application for housing assistance, claiming she was an employee of our company (she was not) and claiming she was earning a significant amount of money from our company (she was not). In point of fact, she actually submitted this fraudulent application after we terminated her contract. She then proceeded to send threatening emails to us demanding we support her fraudulent application for housing assistance. We did not comply.

Tonya Harrison, then demanded thousands of dollars from our company to prevent her from posting false statements about our company and its principals on the Internet. Obviously, this constitutes blackmail and extortion. We did not provide Tonya Harrison any funds.

We are proceeding with litigation against Tonya Harrison based on fraud, theft, defamation and false light claims. She currently is evading service of process.

Tonya Harrison has made postings online contending she is associated with the "Attorney Generals" (sic) office (using improper grammar and punctuation throughout her postings). She continues to attempt to extort funds from our company.

Tonya Harrison was unable to provide references for employers or clients from 2009 forward. We are trying to ascertain how many other businesses she has pulled these types of scams on during this time period.
