I searched around for quotes for quite some time and never having used a mover before I admittedly was nave. I came across this company from some internet search and their price was the lowest and they were one of the most responsive. I was very leery since they charged by the foot instead of the weight, but it seemed about 50/50 from my research.

I spoke to an Anthony several times before committing about a number of things including my items so he could give me a quote, pickup dates, delivery dates, as well as other pertinent information such as them padding and wrapping my furniture for free as the quote initially stated. Two or three days before the scheduled pickup we drew up a contract with the information we agreed to as well as a guaranteed delivery date since my window was so limited and I paid my deposit.

A day before the scheduled pickup time the driver, Joe, calls and says they are about to my placea day early. I let him know that I am not at home because I travel for work and he is a day early and he says that it is the day he has on his list. Finally we get it sorted out and he schedules time to pick up my stuff the next day, a Saturday, and he says it only takes them 3-4 hours.

Three o'clock rolls around and the movers roll up in the most redneck recycled moving truck you have ever seen. The truck itself was a rental I presume as I believe it said Ryder, but the trailer was obviously painted by hand like a giant American flagdefinitely paint you can buy from Home Depot or Wal-Mart. The three guys get out and Joe does all the talking and starts showing me some paperwork then leaves as his phone rings.

They finally come in and the first thing they say when they walk into my Living Room seeing a loveseat and lamp is, This is going to be way more than X-Amount of square feet. Really? You saw one room with 2 items of which I told Anthony I had. Joe then takes me out to the truck and shows me how they are going to proceed and I then ask him to measure the trucks dimensions. I forget all the dimensions now, by they were something like 12' 6 high by 10' 8 wide so he plugs in his calculator 12.6*10.8 to get 136.1. I'm no math wiz, but 12' 6 and 10' 8 is not 12.6 and 10.8 in a calculator and I try and tell him this for quite a while, but he is completely ignorant. Finally I just say whatever, I am not going to argue with you anymore about 2' 9 per 1' in depth. They then proceed to carry my pre-boxed items and my furniture out.

About 8 hours go by and they finally finish loading the truck. Then Anthony comes back and says, Oops, I forgot to have you sign this stuff and I look it over and it contradicts the agreement I had initially, but he reassures me that they will honor that original contract. He then starts counting tape rolls and charges me $5 per roll so I show him on my contract and even the one he had where they will pad and wrap my furniture for free and he proceeds to tell me that it doesn't cover the material costs, just the labor. I argue with him for a little bit saying that's preposterous that you can say padding and wrapping is free, then charge for materials to pad and wrap and he just stands there like a complete tard not giving a crap what I say. Again I cave because by then they kind of have me by the balls and have everything of mine on the truck.

My stuff was to arrive by Feb 5 because I was going to be there from Feb 4-6 and then had to leave the country from Feb 7-16. We call on Feb 3 to make sure of the delivery date and they are still in Miami. We call on Feb 4 and they are still in Miamiobviously they are not going to meet the contract we had with a guaranteed date of Feb 5. We call again and the number is disconnectedthat's odd.

We call the Jersey City Police and have them drive by this place they allege to be their address and they report that the address does not exist. I search through my emails trying to find alternative numbers and come up with another which proceeded to be disconnected as well.

At this point I get pretty nervous. I look through some of the paperwork Driver Joe gave us and I get his cell number so I call him and explain that we need the stuff up there ASAP and he says it isn't going to happen because he hasn't gotten the OK to leave Miami yet and then he need to go to Georgia, New Jersey and New York firstthis is pretty far from Indiana and not going to get here in 2 days. He gives me a few new numbers and I finally get to someone who feeds me the same lines.

Finally, February 19th they arrive at my placetwo weeks after my guaranteed delivery date. They demand their money up front before they start unloading the truck so again they have me by the balls and I really have no choice. I pay and they start unloading.

After it is all said and done I still feel like I go the shaft, why should I have to pay the full price which was 3 times my quoted price because 1) They can't quote correctly or even remotely close and 2) they delivered my belongings 2 weeks late? I call the company numbers again and they are all out of service. I call Driver Joe and ask him for numbers and he is having none of it.

I wait and call back 2 days later impersonating a new customer who is having my stuff picked up within the next few days, but frustrated that I can't get a hold of anyone so he rattles off a number of phone numbers including one that is way different than the rest and then proceeds to tell me, Oops, no not that one, it is out of service too. Something tells me that if this guy can't figure out how to run a calculator he won't remember which numbers in his phone work and which don't. I call that number first and a guy named Kamil picks up (I later find out he is the owner) and I explain my situation and he proceeds to tell me, You are trying to steal from me. Do you know how much it costs to drive a truck up there with these gas prices? If I don't charge you then I lose money. I say, Yeah, well we had a contract, if UPS promises to deliver a package by tomorrow and it doesn't show up until four days do you think the client should be entitled to a refund? He then reiterates, You are trying to steal from me and then tells me to, F&%$-Off!!!

Excellent customer service there Kamil!
