I am an American living in Turkey and we do not have the same products for sale here as they have in the US if you do a search for most things then sellers from china come up for nearly the who first page. I guess that this lead me to believe that it was some how safe to buy products from there since they were on the top of the search engines.I wanted to buy some Inflatable surf boards SUP and while they do sell them here I was looking for something bigger and it came up so often it seemed easier to just get it from one of those sites and it seemed it would be easier that to continue searching and the prices would be the same of cheaper even with shipping.

I ordered from Jason Yang of http://www.chinasupboards.com called Toway Water Sports CO LTD or Toway Sports on the Site. I did not just jump in blindly to this Purchase I contacted the seller first and asked on skype

I paid a total of $890 in shipping and the reciept said specifically Express Shipping Door to Door. When I asked by the shipping was so high

You have to admit that is a lot of shipping for ınflatable surf boards. After the boards were sent I got a call from TNT saying that a shipment had arrived and because it came by truck and not plane it must go through customs. The shipment was stopped coming into the country because item shipped by plane go through customs when the leave but if they come by truck customs happens as the boarder they come in from. You can not ship by plane without the product going through customs. I was told I need to send a power of attorney and the shipment would be released. I asked why was this necessary they said this must be done on all shipments arriving by truck.

I contacted the seller and he said he shipped it by air and it was TNT the shipping company that switch it by ground. He said it probably happened because the airport was closed due to a COUP attempted. It made sense so I paid $207 to do the Power of Attorney. I was told it takes 2-3 days after waiting for more then that I email and did not get a reply and so I called. I was told I needed 2 more documents and to pay a Bill over 4510 TL to get the shipment the 2 documents would cost another $207 each and then 4510 TL in USD is $1555. The goods themselves were only $1500. The fees included extra Duty because it arrive by truck. Normally they do not change tax on such items according to the sites but if they do then the amount is 18% which would have been $270. That is a big difference.

When I questioned what all these fees were for I was told they were for storage and a safety inspection of the product to insure that the product was suitable for sale in Turkey. This is mandatory for all products being imported for sale in Turkey. But I am not an importer nor do I have anyway of knowing the quality of the product shipped. Would it pass or would it not. If it did not pass I would be out $2176. Now had I ordered this from a site like Fish Pond none of these fees would have been required. I contacted the seller and he tried to tell me I was being scammed by the agent and it was my fault and that he did not work for the shipping company and he was scamming me.

So I called the shipping company directly to see if he was in fact referred by them which I knew he was because how would he have my info otherwise. They said that he did and I asked why do I can to deal with these issues and pay all these fees I paid for Express Shipping and it is your company that switched it to ground. I am the buyer, just a customer not an importer and have no idea the quality of what is in the shipping. She informed me that the shipment was not shipped by Express door to door service like the Invoice said but it was shipped by economy shipping there cheapest shipping and in such a case only goes by plane where it has to so it would fly over sea by plane but transferred to truck when going over land whatever the cheapest route is.

So it was the Seller who scammed me. At first he tried to get the agent to claim it was my fault and even said later when it was proven that the reason for all the fees was it was because he did not ship it as I paid for he told the payment processor that he would pay the fees that were caused by shipping it economy but then he never did. I am still going back and forth with the Payment Processor as when I talk to them they say I am right and open the claim back up but every time it is reviewed by others it they say it is not covered. In the end I have no idea if I will win the claim for my money back but even if I do I will still be out the $207 for the Power of Attorney that got me nothing in the end. And while I paid on June 21 I have yet to resolve the problem over $3,200 out the window to date with no product.

This company and Jason Yang is a scammer and a con man. I have learned my lesson about buying Items for China while it may seem like a good idea when you end up with nothing it clearly is not. And advise on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
