I use to be a part owner of small internet company. One of our employees signed us up for the Tower stream service, without our consent. We however made a number of payments to them ($999 per month) very steep! In any case I was reviewing our costs (as we had a number of down days internet wise), and our venders I noticed this bill from Tower stream. I called them to let them know that not only was the internet service slow, and not as advertised, but it was way too expensive and we wanted to cancel the service. I also pointed out that we had 5 days of no service what so ever, and they asked for the claim number. By this time the employee who had been handling this vender was gone, and I had no " claim number" to give them. So they basically called told me I must be lying. yes their customer service is rude....
I was told that they will hold us to the contract, and we must pay the remaining 19 months left on the contract...so about $19k. I told them we are not interested in their service, and I do not see why they are so hard up to try and collect of the full " contract", when we will not even be using the service.
I have heard of "early termination fees" but towerstream takes it to a whole new level! They basically try and hold a gun to your head and force you to use their service, even if you no longer like it, or can afford it. On top of all this my old company has been out of business for almost 2 years and counting, and I just recently got another threatening letter from them! My advise, to ANY company or person thinking about doing business with these sharks, is to NOT do business with Towerstream! They do not care about your plight as a company or as an individual, they are only interested in locking you into a bad contract and then come after you when you are unhappy with them, and they will not stop even if you have no money, and are broke. Anyways I just wanted to give my fellow man a heads up.
