Squamish Toyota Squamish Toyota Service Department Failed To Complete Job Squamish, BC BC, Canada

The job was to install a distributor and check the timing.  Prior to contracting the work I asked the service rep if any of their mechanics had experience on older Toyotas like my 1987 Corolla and was told that the master mechanic had experience and would be doing the job.  I asked and was informed that the timing would be checked and reset if necessary.

They installed the part without checking the timing.  The service guy stated that the timing had not been checked.  He said he would call me for a second appointment to complete the work but never called.  He also divulged that all his mechanics are the master mechanic.

I spoke with the store owner who refused to complete the job because, he said, "We don't like eachother."  He also divulged that they do not have anyone in the service dept with experience on older Toyotas like mine.

Since the service rep misrepresented the experience of the 'master mechanic' they obtained my consent for the work fraudulently.  They also ripped me off by collecting payment for an incomplete job which they refused to complete.  Finally, by resetting the idle speed 300 - 400 rpms higher the mechanic attempted to cover up his failure to check the timing.

My credit card company agreed that my billing dispute was justified and cancelled the charge.
