I originally purchased three  trac phones thru hsn, one for myself, spouse in CA and mybrother in WI. My brothers phone worked till he moved to markesan Wi and then he had no service but had 1000 minutes left. I called and asked if I could have the minutes transferred to my phone and they told me unless I transferred the phone number from that phone to mine they could not transfer the minutes. I spoke with a customer service rep, a supervisor name Karen Carillo and  then the manager named Juan Montufar and they all said the same thing it's against company policy unless I give up my phone number for the phone number with minutes on it. i informed them that I did not want to change my phone number that I had for a very long time, there are family members I could lose touch with, they just kept saying it's against company policy to do it any other way.

I am on disability and my spouse is unemployed and receives no benefits and we are seniors. We cannot afford to lose 1000 minutes and I refused to give up my phone number. Now I am forced to look for a new phone provider and I'm out 1000 minutes because I refuse to stay with a company that has no care or concern for their customers and steals from them when their making millions. The only thing they won't get is my phone number I'm taking it to whatever new carrier I find. They also need to hire people with less accent so people can understand them. I am not against any nationality just when they have a thick accent and you don't know what they are saying and your speaking to a manager thats pretty bad.

It is my number as long as I keep it, I brought it with me from my prior carrier and will take it to my new carrier .Trac phone only gets it if my minutes expire and if you read my complaint it was my brother not son. Evidently your lack of age makes you quick to judge and call names maybe you work for Trac phone. I probably should have noted in my report that we have 578 service days left. It's sad that you have nothing to do with your life but to bash seniors.

Due to your age and obvious lack of knowledge of HOW cellphones work, I will inform you. You may have mins left but be out of SERVICE DAYS. WHich tells me that you have a prepaid service. WHich means all your son has to do is get a refill card for whichever prepaid service they have and they will get an extra 90 days of service. Mins are the length of your calls. Service is amount of TIME left to make those calls. YOU have not been ripped off, just your lack of how it all works. Awful nice of you to blast them BEFORE knowing WHAT you are doing. Must feel awful nice knowing that because of YOUR ignorance YOU have caused Tracfone some online hardship. Good news is that consumers such as myself can set the record straight.

Go get a top up card for $20. Do the web a favor and stay off sites like RoR until you really know what your talking about. You HAVE NOT BEEN RIPPED OFF!!! The ONLY barrier here is YOUR IGNORANCE.

FYI: Its NOT your number. Porting your number over is a PRIVILAGE that the carriers allow you. You DO NOT own that number. THEY do. I swear it ALWAYS amazes me at the sheer moronic nature of the American Consumer. You are self-entitled and self-important. You give yourselves "airs" that you have not earned. Tracfone couldnt DO what YOU wanted and somehow and someway that makes THEM a bad company. NOT GETTING YOUR WAY is NOT tha hallmark of a bad company. They just couldnt DO what you wanted due to FCC regulations. But HEY!!! You got to WHINE online and just show your ignorance to the entire web.
