In early April I purchased a product called Learn Russian Now from transparent language. After about a month, it would not run. I contacted the "technical support" for transparent language and someone named JMaynard responded. To make a long story short, after 3 or 4 email back and forth, having no success with the technical support, I was told by JMaynard that I would be sent a replacement disc.

Since the disk was never sent as promised, I learned that the president of the company was someone named MQuinlan. I emailed him and told him of the promise that was made to me by JMaynard to send the replacement. Quinlan stated that he would make good on the promise, and that he forwarded my email to JMaynard to see why it was not sent. He even called me personally at work.

It's been almost 2 months now with no sign of the replacement as I was promised by both the technical support staff and the president of the company. When I try to email president Quinlan, tech support, or a general "info@" email, I get an error message that says email is undeliverable. I think I have been blocked from the email. How's that for service.

I agree with the other person who complained about transparent language, because they do not care about their customers at all. They make promises that they don't keep. Below I have copied the actual emails that were sent to this company, and you can plainly see that they promised me a new disc:

I am complaining about staff, in particular "JMaynard," who fails to deliver on his promises and then does not respond to me. This is in regards to a Learn Russian Now V8 purchase that I made some time ago. Below is a copy of the dialogue between myself and "JMaynard." I would like to get a replacement as I was promised in the second to last e-mail.

Windows 95/98/Me has a built-in method for troubleshooting video problems. There is a slider you can adjust to change the way Windows uses the video card. It is a good idea to start with the setting on the right (the Full setting) and move the slider one setting to the left until you find the setting that works best. To use the slider to change the way Windows uses the video card, follow these steps:

In Control Panel, double-click System.
Click the Performance tab, and then click the Graphics.
Note that the Hardware Acceleration slider has four settings (Full, Most, Basic, and None). Set the Hardware Acceleration slider to BASIC
Restart the Computer
Restart LanguageNow!

It is extremely important that I point out that I was blown off not just by the technical support man, but by the president of the company as well. My most recent emails have been blocked. I was attempting to find out why they had not sent the product after about 2 months of this going on. When my emails came back blocked, I understood what had happened.

Be very cautious if dealing with Transparent Language Inc.. They don't make good on their promises, and they will call you on the phone and say anything just to get rid of you. They will promise you that they will send you something, then they will not answer email after a while, and if you keep trying to get what you have been promised they will block your email. I would especially encourage schools and people who may want to purchase their software in large quantities to really be careful here. If there is a problem, chances are you will be left out in the cold.

Transparent Language literally lives up to it's name. The promises they make, in writing and in person, are in fact TRANSPARENT LANGUAGE. Expect nothing more.
