Brought truck to shop on 08/18/11 to have my transmission rebuilt with an original quote of $1000.00 completed the end of day on 08/19/11. Called them on 08/19/11 to check on the status and was told it would be complete on Monday, and that my tranny would be rebuilt instead of using a different core to rebuild. Called Monday 08/22/11 to check and was told it is almost finished that they needed one more day, but that MY transmission was NEVER rebuildable.

I physically went down there to see what was going on. I was greeted by Dennis who took me to the back of the shop and shown an empty shell of a transmission and was told it was the original that they would be using, I told Dennis that Rob said it was in too bad of condition, Dennis stated he has no idea what Rob is talking about. Rob said they were almost done, yet the transmission was only a shell at this point.

I called back later that day to talk about the situation and Rob said that it would be an additional $500, but couldn't say why. I spoke with three different individuals before someone could explain to me what the charges were for, but was hung up on towards the end of the conversation. Evidently it was for a flush to the cooling system and additional work that was supposed to be included in the 1000.00 quote. My wife called back five minutes later to see if she could get anywhere, Rob repeated what the charges were for and said by the way your transfer case is busted in half and that will be an additional $800 plus labor to install a new one. I had the transfer case inspected by two other certified mechanics prior to bringing it in to the shop and they both stated the transfer case was fine, I told this to Dennis and his mechanic Adam and they said they were liars.

I finally had enough, they had charged my card $800 without permission, because they demanded to have a card on file for when the job was over. They referred to this as a "DEPOSIT". I told them to stop all work and put the original parts in the back of the truck. They told me I cant have my truck until I pay 1,530.00 even though nothing had been fixed, and it was more broken then when I brought the truck to them. I demanded my truck back and Rob said he would like to see me try and that they would do anything they can to stop me. At this point Rob and Dennis stated threatening me with physical violence if I tried to retrieve my vehicle. I said I don't know what your implying but I am bringing a police officer with me you cannot
keep my truck. I called the police and my tow truck, we all met at the shop and Transplant was forced to let me have my truck.

The transmission was not in the truck Adam the mechanic rolled a cart out with a bunch of loose parts and loaded it in the back of the truck. We had the truck towed to a mechanic who did a full inspection of the parts placed in truck. He said there are parts from four different transmissions, and some parts from a completely different model of truck that had nothing to do with the internals of the transmission. He said that there were only approximately 20% of the original parts for my transmission. He also said upon inspecting the transfer case it was a fresh break. and that the outer housing had been hit with something to break it, but that the internal parts were still ok.

While transplant had stated that it was broken for a long time and the internal parts were ruined. AAMCO verified that the Transfer case was not broken before it went into Transplant. I feel that Transplant broke my transfer case in order to scam me and then stole the internal parts of my transmission when the scam didn't work.
