I tried doing one of those online surveys where you agree to a few offers and get a Target card. I clicked on the Universal trips offer.

On May 16, 2007 I received a phone call at 8:00 pm. The girl said her name was Emily. She said that etourandtravel was trying to promote tourism and would give me a 6 night and 7 day trip to Florida with Star passes to Universal Studios along with a rental car from Enterprise, all for 398 dollars.

Then she wanted my credit card number. I explained to her that my husband was at work and he had the credit card. I also would need to talk with him before making that kind of purchase. She tried to create a sense of urgency saying that she didn't know if any packages would be left if I waited.

However, she gave me a number to call her back. She was very nice but the red flag went up for me when she asked for a credit card number without offering to send information about the offer in the mail until I made the purchase.

I immediately went online to check them out and saw the numerous, numerous complaints against them. One recommended getting them to take my name off the call list. So I dialed back the number that was on my caller ID. (Remember she told me to call her back at a different number, trying to make it seem like she was in a big office.) She was the one who answered the phone.

I told her I read the complaints and I politely asked her to take me off their list. She very quickly rebuttled saying "How many good companies have a complaint against them?" She claimed that all the complaints had been resolved and then got her "co-worker" on the line and he started going off on me too. I just kept saying "Please take me off the list". He finally said ok. I thought that was the end.

Two minutes later I got a call from another number. this time a 1800 service number. The same voice spoke on the phone but the man claimed he was from a magazine company. I told him I knew it was him and to stop calling me and hung up. Two minutes later another call from a different number. This time the guy used a machine to disguise his voice. He sounded like a chipmunk. I told him to stop calling and hung up. He continued to call for the next two hours from all kinds of different numbers from different states! Most of the time he'd just site there and then hang up. At one point they had an automated bank service from CA calling for my bank account number! I told them I'd call the police and I guess they saw that as a challenge. It didn't keep them from calling.

DO NOT TALK TO THESE PEOPLE! They are evil and really screwed up. I am still trying to get some action taken against them. I am using the first name and number that called me. It's based out of Tamarac FL. I'm so glad I didn't give them my account number.
