Travel By Owner Howard Wilson scammed us by saying they had our timeshare sold. They stole $1500.00 from us for closing costs, title search ect. They make you a believer until you want answers and they give you the run around wit Ocoee, Florida

We received a phone call from Elizabeth Perez from Travel By Owner with an offer for our timeshare.  We accepted the offer, she told us we needed to pay $1500.00 for closing costs and a title search. The sale would be completed between 60 and 90 days.  If for any reason the sale was not completed due to error of the buyers their deposit of $2280.00 would automatically go to us.

The 90 days came and went.  I called several times, mostly leaving messages in the hopes of a return call.  I documented each call and who I spoke with when I was able to reach a live person.   They told me the buyers were unable to get a loan at that time to fulfill the sale due to judgments filed against them.

I requested a refund or the deposit made by the buyers.  They told me the refund request would be filed however there would be a 30 business day wait before it would be even considered.  It has been an 8 month nightmare.  The thought of people scamming hard working people is a tragedy.  It has put us in a financial strain!
