Travelers Insurance unneeded and inadequate repair to automobile, ripoff Hartford Connecticut

I recently went into a water filled ditch with my 2007 Dodge Nitro with 2,000 miles during a snow storm. The front of my vehicle was under water up to the firewall on the passenger side and just past wheel on driver side. it was difficult to pull out of the ditch and was ubder water for over 3 hours. When someone was finally able to arrive with a truck big enough my vehicle started to freeze in. I was able to drive it home but it was frozen in the morning and would not start. I called Travelres and they suggested I take to a local repair shop that they had a office in.

Repairs were started on my vehicle before I was given a copy of the estimate, when I did receive a copy I found they removed the trim form all of the perimeter of the car and removed all 4 doors and were painting them.
I spoke with the adjuster about unneeded repairs being perfromed and the repairs I needed were not being adressed, he did not listen and took my vehicle apart more.

At this point I spoke with a reputable repair shop in my area, he advised me what they had done was illegal and did not sound right.

The owner of this repair shop had my car towed to his shop and had to hire a moving company to bring all of the disassembeld parts to his shop. At this point I have not hav my new vehicle in a month, Travelers Insurance first estimate was $2,000.00 and the repair shop estimate is over $20,000.00.

Travelers Insurance refuses to repair my new vehicle to the standards that a independent repair shop estimates but they will pay a repair shop that they have a office in to paint doors that were not damaged in any way.
