I am writing to you concerning the disputed charge on my visa card by Travelocity dated February 8, 2005. Ramada Inn Ltd. West in Flagstaff, Arizona agreed to cancel our reservations for February 18 thru February 19 at 8:45 AM on February 17, 2005. The cancellation number is 161282, given by an employee of Ramada Inn Ltd. West. Another employee reconfirmed the cancellation on March 9, 2005 at 7:15 AM. Our cancellation was given well within the 24 hour deadline needed by the hotel in order to waive the charge. I notified Travelocity of this, who also cancelled my reservation and agreed on a partial refund, which I still have not yet received. At this time Capital One had removed this charge and refunded the money. Later it was reinstalled on my credit card because Travelocity informed Capital One that I never cancelled with them.

In my letter to Travelocity, I enclosed my phone records showing my call to Ramada Inn Ltd. West in Flagstaff, Arizona, canceling my reservations well before 24 hours of check in. I have also enclosed a letter from Ramada Inn West confirming my cancellation within the necessary time frame, along with confirmation showing that No charges were incurred at Ramada Inn. As I stated to Capital One earlier, I have no problem paying the cancellation fee of $25 required by Travelocity, if this is the way they wish to do business. However, I take exception for paying for two nights stay when I never checked in, and cancelled with over 24 hours notification. I also enclosed confirmation of cancellation from Travelocity who offered a PARTIAL refund. I don't know what other documentation I could possibly need for this to be resolved.

I have proof from each party showing I cancelled in the required amount of time, cancellation numbers, and amount of monies owed. I just felt that other people out there need to be aware of what can take place and what DOES take place on a daily basis when dealing on the internet.
