I purchased trex decking from my local lumber yard, june 2003, when delivered it was all stained and had the band marks from where it was shipped from company, i immediately reported this to the lumber yard and they assured us that this would all come off with a good wash.

As we proceeded to install the material we again advised Dills Best (Local lumber yd) that the material was not in good condition, so they advised a represenative from the company was to come out and look, this happened end of july, he took pictures and asked us to be patient as the representative higher up was on vacation.

August rolled around continued to complain, this time some rep from company arrived he tried to clean a small area and finally agreed this was a serious problem and wanted me to clean the deck with some type of deck wash, we stated that we already did this and you tried too, and why should i do this anyway when the product should never have dome in this contition in the first place. this went back enforth for several weeks when by the 2 week of oct they sent someone to clean only the marks on the deck not the whole deck, so now they only clean spots so we now have bleached out marks (white spots) all over. We continued to call Trex, when they did finally agreed that the deck should have been cleaned all over not just in spots but this is now november and too cold to power wash this materials. Brenda Hayen suggested that the deck material should all fade over the course of the winter and the marks should all be gone by spring. But they would clean the deck in the spring anyway.

Wrote letter to Brad Ross informing him of this problem never answered, but this is not unusual they never call you back, you must call day and night to finally get through. He advised that this is not his department he is with some sort of advertising, but gave me branda haydens # which I called again still waiting.

Now that this deck is down 1 yr to the day of this report it looks even worst then it did when we purchased it, the different lenghts of board are not all the same color so not only do I have white spots but different colors of material.

The Trex Company doesn't stand up to its product and it is a ripoff to the customer who purchased it.
