Tri-State Distributing Taking advantage of the elderly! Dubuque Iowa

This company contacted my 85 year old father by phone and secured a home appointment for the same day.  They then used high pressure tactics and proceeded to sell him an air filtration system for nearly four times the price that identical units can be readily purchased for from legitimate sources.  They also misrepesented a "free vacation" that was included that was nothing more than lodging at a time share with a multitude of stipulations.  My father did not need an air filtration system nor was he in the market for one. Even though it is technically legal to charge outragously high prices for something it is my opinion that they used deceptive tactics on an elderly person to secure a sale.  I was able to physically return the unit to their office within a day but was told they did not have his check at the office, which forced him to put a stop payment on his check that cost him $35.
