I posted my resume on some of the popular internet career sites, shortly after losing my job.  A few days later, I get a call from Kevin Hansen saying that he is an executive recruiter with the Trident Group, that he reviewed my resume, and that I would make an excellent candidate for some clients he was performing a search for.  He asked me how long I was with my previous employer (should have gotten that from the resume), what my previous salaray was (supposedly so that he knew what range to target) and about my former employer's 401k plan.

He told me that one of his "top notch recruiters" would be contacting me in the next couple of days to do an in-depth interview.  He also said that Trident offered a free financial consultation to all their clients and that they would like to get that setup ASAP.

A couple days later, I got a phone call from the recruiter.  The "in-depth interview" lasted five minutes and consisted of three questions.  What was my previous title, what was my salary, and what were the benefits.  No questions about my experience, education, interests, etc.  He said he'd perform a thorough search of open positions through their exclusive network and get back to me.

Before we hung up, he wanted to confirm the meeting for their free service at my home on monday morning.  When monday morning came, I received the results of their "exclusive search".  I got a list of three open positions that were posted on monster.com, and not even close to what I was looking for, interested in, or qualified for.  When I called them to tell them I had to "reschedule", I was told that all future search results would be held until I met with their financial counselor about my 401k money.

At that point, there was no doubt that the only thing they were interested in was getting their hands on my money. Total scumbags!!!!  Taking advantage of the unemployed.
