Trios College in Windsor has the worst Paralegal program.They will promise you that you can become an independent, paralegal and work for yourself but that is not true.
The school is not accredited for the paralegal program, so once you pass it you cannot open your own paralegal firm.No corporations in the city will hire you if you received your training at this school.
They do not have proper instructors.when I attended they had one instructor for the whole course and he was a lawyer that deals in estate law.So he did not know how to teach all the different courses in law.They do not have a different instructor for all the different types of law you learn.
Some of the courses in the program should not even be taught as they are not for paralegals,they are for lawyers only.
Not one person in my class found employment and we were not given an internship.(the few that did get the chance to intern,it was for a family law firm,which Paralegals are not allowed to practise in).
I have now wasted a year of my life and owe thousands of dollars to student loans for a course that was useless to me.I even contacted OSAP and complained to them because they should not be allowing student loans for a course that they know people are not going to succeed in.
I contacted other private colleges and they told me they have pulled the program because their students were not finding employment once they graduated, and that because of the new paralegal regulations it was not fair because right now there are no schools in the city of Windsor that are accredited for this program.The community college does not even have the course right now.
So if the community college does not offer it why is Trios allowed to get away with this?
I have been speaking with past students and they have the same issues.I am in the process of trying to obtain a lawyer to see if I can seek compensation for my money and time wasted.
So please do not register at Trios college you will waste your time and your money!

I too enrolled at trios for their paralegal course.. thankfully I caught on before I had advanced too far into the course. 3 terms of accounting compared to one of evidence of law was a little suspicious to me. Then when the third instructor to date informed the class that heresay evidence was too involved for a two week course so he would just skip over that part of the evidenciary procedure I got freaked.. I have been in contact with the student legal services at Western University. The first words out of their mouths when I explained my problem was "not another Trios College case:. The intake worker at Trios lied to me repeatedly. They led me to believed they were accredited and it was absoulutely imperative to me to graduate from an accredited school. I had 5 professors quit. My email account, which is the only form of communication did not work for the first 3 months. The computers they used were substandard... I lost 4 days of work on the one, another time there were only 12 computers for 17 students, my one instructor did not even have his own text book. Not to mention the fact he had not clue as to how to teach. He only read from the book. Work I had completed could not be turned in because of teachers quitting. Front staff used the phones for personal use. I was given 9 textbooks for a 2 week course... 8 of which were never used. Teachers where incorrect in that they gave two correct answers to a question but only counted one as being right. The school cost me $2500 of my own money and are now trying to collect another $2300 from me. I attended for less that 40 days before I woke up to the con. Thats $4800 for 40 days of school. $120 day... plus a whole lost year of school. I would appreciate any help from you guys
