#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
Response to the false statement...
AUTHOR: Triple C Transit - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, August 17, 2017
I usually do not respond to non sense like this, however when a person starts putting my employees, and co workers into a completely false report, I decided to respond to this. If a man wants to be upset with me when I know it's false it doesn't bother me, but when you drag others down it does bother me. I will not mention the man's name that wrote this out of respect for him, although I know exactly who it was. Even though he chose to put names out there, I know I am the bigger man and choose not to. This man came to us with a lease truck that he had found and wanted to lease on with us. We went through the process, leased his truck on, and sent him out on the road to make his living. While in orientation he was explained to about everything from how we do paperwork, how we pay, how we fuel, how we log, how and where we run, and everything else that goes along with trucking day to day. He was ok with everything, understood everything, and signed his lease AFTER orientation. There were no lies told to this man. As soon as he left after the first load or two he took it upon himself to try and dispatch his own truck because he thought he knew better. He would run short miles, for low paying freight, and had a large truck payment. This went on for a while, and then he decided he wanted to switch trailer types because he thought he could do better with a different trailer. I agreed to give him a shot, but while he was at the office to change trailers he was told VERY specifically that he had to run longer miles, and better paying freight if he expected to make it as an owner operator. He agreed and IN FACT he even outlined a map for us showing where he would and would not run. We agreed on it and he went on his way. Within a couple of days he was back to his old ways. Running short miles and low paying freight again. This didn't work with the first trailer type, and it didn't work with the second trailer type either. He broke himself. I don't want to see anyone fail, but when he did fail he wanted to blame it on us even though we did nothing except front his fuel, and pay his insurance. He lied to us about loads, tried to get shippers to pay him directly, kept our trailer after de-leasing, kept our ELD, kept our license plate, and made the leasing company come get his truck. Trucking in general is fairly simple. You run hard, put in the work, and make good money. There are millions of things that have to be done in a trucking company by employees in the office, and drivers on the road, but at the end of the day, a driver makes the amount of money they work for. We pay by percentage, not by the mile, so why in the world would we want anyone to get zero??? What's a percentage of zero to a company? Zero! We fronted his fuel, and insurance in hopes to get paid back. The money he is speaking of us stealing from him was actually equipment that HE went to pick up and HE bought. How did we steal this? We didn't! He paid for his equipment out of his escrow account instead of paying for it out of pocket when HE went to pick up the equipment. As far as employees in the office, he is just wrong and has no idea what he's talking about. Again, we pay on percentage, why wouldn't we want each and every driver to make a good living? HE chose his truck and truck payment himself from an outsourced company, HE chose the loads that HE hauled, HE chose the trailer type that he pulled, HE chose where and when he bought fuel, HE chose everything in this situation and is just looking for someone to blame it on. I know every driver, owner operator, and trucking company out there knows that you get what you work for. In this unfortunate case, he chose his destiny and I was left with recovering equipment out of my pocket. I wish you well in the future. There was nothing stolen from you, no one lied to you, no one offered you bad loads, no one has secrets here.... We show up every day and work as hard as we possibly can and so do all of our drivers. We know without drivers we have nothing!
