i am an experienced tax professional and have been using tax prep software for over 10 years and decided to try TRX, because the price seemed a bit more reasonable than what i had been paying.  order was place in september, 2012 for their 2012 product.

CD with the software was received on december and we proceeded to convert my tax files using their 2011 product, so i got a chance to look at the prior year's software with the converted files and the returns looked correct, so i assumed that 2012 would work okay.

understanding that our infinitely wise Congress and President (of the U.S.) waited until 2013 to change the 2012 tax rules, alll software people were in desperate trouble .... because IRS was not going to have their forms available for some time, so the software companies were automatically delayed in completing their product.

needless to say, i waited and trx kept sending me updates, but every time i found more "bugs" in their federal program software than i knew what to do with, and their customer service staff always had some work around [a total waste of time].  i never got my state program nor any business software (for my small business returns: corporations and partnerships) ... so i could not finish anything that i started and i became very frustrated and my customers were getting very impatient when i could not perform my job and deliver the finished tax returns.

i was promised that by the end of february everything was going fine and the software would be working.  well, just like all the bugs they were going to work out, they failed to complete the task of getting the software working.  on 3/5/2013 i finally gave up and went to my old software company ... and they had alll the business returns and states working correctly.

i lost the money for the software, but managed to salvage the tax season.  they didn't even refund a protion of their fee, nor give me the courtesy of an apology call or email, but at the end of april, 2013, i got bombarded with emails and postcards to renew!  what a joke!

i hope this report will convince others not to deal with this company.  the price may look good, but i don't know how such garbage can be marketed and how they are still in business is even more amazing.
