Try Hours is a huge joke. The owner does not care about anyone but himself. his 24 year old daughter who is ceo or something is even a bigger joke then the company. The first few months were great. After you get your 90 days in we have realized its all down hill from there. After 8 months we finnally quit.

try hours has whats called an ambassador program. You as a driver recruit other drivers and u are SUPPOSE to get paid. After I recruited my friends silly me, they changed the rules and added the new drivers have to be loaded a certain amount of miles per month for you to get paid.

Well they dont have the miles to begin with. So ofcourse getting paid for my friend who drives tractor-trailer never happened. they cant even keep her loaded with atleast 1500 to 2000 miles per week. shes lucky to get 1000 miles. This is to Pay 375.00 thats a nice chunk of change. IF IT HAPPENS.

I was waiting for my check for my brother-inlaw that i recruited and was told the check wouldbe mailed next week, But yet when my wife called that same day and talked to same person she was told by payroll it would be mailed this week. needless to say we quit the same week I was told it was mailed.

When i called to inquire where it was they said i have to be employed so i was not getting it. what a shocker.. I didnt quit until I was led to believe it was mailed.

Dispatch does a whole lot of please do me a favor, please. please. please... But they never help you. They are consistantly sending you on loads as a single driver that violate HOS rules.They know it, but do it routinely.

Dispatch lies to you repeatedly about whats loads pay, where its going, what the dead head is. They tell you one thing then you get the info on the Q/C and its totally different.

Nicole the owners daughter, has the theory that all truck drivers are liers and her dispatchers would never lie. Their fuel surcharge is so low its a joke. I honestly believe they are keeping alot of it. They say the drivers get 100%, but I dont believe that for a minute.

Dispatch and ooppsed to many times on the phone with me about what it pays, they say oh im sorry its less then that. And Yep Payroll loves to tell you that the checks in the mail. Dispatch will send you to lets say florida then want you to DH to NC and not pay dh or they will tell you if you dont DH and take .70 cents per mile loaded then you will sit there until atleast the next day.

i have had this happen several times and told the same thing by 2 different dipatchers. "if you dont do it then you will sit there" QUOTE. but if you ask Nicole she will say the driver lied he was never told that. Whenever she was not there. Havent recieved the escrow money yet, we will see what happens with that. PLEASE DONT drive for this company they will RIP YOU OFF!

If you are a driver, XPO, formerly Express-1 is no better.  I worked for them for a month and was paired with an idiot.  In the 5 weeks I drove with this guy I personally saw him run 4 red lights, including one he ran when he took his road test and the administrator passed him!

I told the fleet manager (Adam Brown of Toledo) for the owner of the truck (Brian Judd/Judd Transportation) what he was doing and he sent me a text saying he would find a replacement for him.  A week or so later I got a text from him saying Matt would be staying on with us.  Then I called my recruiter at XPO (Cindy Kuntz) and told her what was going on and asked her to find another owner to put me with.  I called her repeatedly but she would never take or return my calls.

I made both audio and video of the blatantly stupid things my co-driver did and the fleet manager got mad about it claiming I didn't have his permission to do so, as if I needed it.  I refused to sign his idiotic lease because in part it made me responsible for the stupid things my co-driver was doing and told him I wanted off the truck and he has refused to pay me in excess of $1600 that he still owes me.

Both videos I have attempted to attach are from the last day I was on the truck.  They are short but you don't have time to set up for this kind of thing.  Even so you can tell what he is doing.  The first video shows him reading a message I sent over the QC to XPO to Adam Brown, while he was driving, AND BROWN KNEW IT.  The second one shows him driving through an on-coming turn lane.  This guy was a bad driver to begin with.  But once he started playing with his phone the truck was all over the road.  I never got a decent nights sleep.

I have filed a complaint with the FMCSA so we'll see what happens.  They are probably just as useless and unconcerned when it comes to fullfilling their obligations to the public they are supposed to protect as any other government agency so probably nothing will come of it.  If the FMCSA really has any intention of making our highways safer they need to crack down on carriers and make them liable to the drivers, regardless of what their contracts say.

I've been with TryHours for one month, and I've only worked 8 days!!! They keep telling me they don't have work, that it's slow, that they're trying to find me something....but day after day after day goes by, and STILL no work! I sat in Toledo, OH for a WEEK which is where the company is based out of...you'd think that they would have SOMETHING to do in their own city, wouldn't you? Prior to that, I sat at home for 11 days because they kept telling me they "had no work", that they were "looking". Both times I went to St. Louis, I ended up deadheading home 250 miles at my own expense because they couldn't find me a load to get me home.

This company doesn't seem very well established, as they are constantly having to use load boards to find loads.

Any company that has an established customer base does not have to rely on LOAD BOARDS. But what makes me even angrier is that I just found out a few minutes ago that they docked my pay 3 different times for "not being on time".

One time they docked my pay 50%! I ***KNOW*** I was NOT late to anything! If anything, I was EARLY!

I told them I am hurting so bad financially as it is because they aren't working me, and I'm so discouraged and depressed because of it, and then to find out they are STEALING money from me, that I might as well just shoot myself. I'm sick of trucking companies.

They are all crooked and hurt so many people. What's it going to take for them to get a reality check? Someone walking into their building and shooting up the place? Someone killing themselves at their front door? This really has to stop! It needs to be made illegal for trucking companies to steal money out of people's paychecks. Owner Operators and employees need protection from trucking companies. If you can avoid it, don't ever work for a trucking company - you'll just get screwed one way or another. I have not had one good experience that can speak of.

Have you ever heard anything about Express-1 in Michigan? They have $0 down on their box trucks, and if things aren't working out and you want to leave, Express-1 told me they don't hold you up for the remaining lease - all they require is a 30-day notice. I am considering doing this, but don't want to get burned. So have you or anybody else heard anything bad about the company?
