Here is the situation, We released our own edition of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean which we put up about 7-8 months ago in tribute to him after his passing away. Tunecore took the money and did what they were suppose to do by distributing it to itunes and other digital outlets.
Now here is where is gets MESSY.......we have over 10 other albums on the website that are selling quite well.............so after ALLLLLLLLLLL THIS TIME...we go to transfer our money $457.78 to our paypal and have to wait over 4 days for payment (it is suppose to be 24-48 hours)........we kindly send an email to them and ask for reasons why it is taken so long and out of the blue we get this email from Tai Morita WE QUOTE:
I won't release any funds until I see that license agreement obtained stating you have the right to sell and distribute your version of Billie Jean. We can not distribute content that is unauthorized, so once I confirm that the track is authorized and being distributed legally, I can't release any funds.
Now here's the problem with that. We dont mind them saying that BUT WHY DID'NT THEY SAY AND ENFORCE THAT FROM THE BEGINNING before letting it go on for months!.........2nd of all what does that 1 album have to do with the revenue generated from all the other albums...............THAT IS STEALING!!!!..........If you wanna be fair take down the 1 album and refuse any payment from that 1 album...............BUT TUNECORE.COM DID NOT DO THAT!...........WE ARE CURRENTLY GETTING READY TO PUT OUT A LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM!.........
We don't have any problem with getting the license....matter of fact we getting to sending it to them..................Our point is simply this: DONT MAKE UP THE RULES AS YOU GO! AND MOST IMPORTANTLY DON'T STEAL PEOPLE MONEY, THAT THEY WORKED HARD FOR!
ATTENTION ARTIST, SINGERS AND SONGWRITERS!!!!!.........BEWARE OF TUNECORE.COM!...Your better of with CDBABY or Catapult Distrubution....THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!!........BEFORE YOU KNOW IT THIS MIGHT BE YOU!!!!

WARNING!!!!!!..............ALL ARTIST BEWARE OF THESE LIARS AND THEIVES...........Tunecore charges you for EVERRRRRRRRRYTHING!...Every single song, Every Single Distribution Company You Send it Too, Every Year for Each Account........and Yeah They say it's 100% Royalties but they charge you a fee to transfer YOUR OWN MONEY TO YOUR OWN ACCOUNT..............These people are liars and greedy crooks!..............If Your a New Artist and are reading this RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU COULD!............CDBABY or SONGCAST is your best bet.............TUNECORE IS STRICTLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY AND NOT TO SERVE THE ARTIST WELL!
