Direct Buy lures consumers with promises of products and services at lower than retail prices, untrue. While researching products offered via DirectBuy I found several at lower prices, when I questioned this I was told that not everything can be sold at a lesser price. And they charge processing or shipping fees at times.

They make false promises to entice you to agree to the terms and when you have second thoughts they refunse to discuss it. They state there is a 3 day window to cancel the contract but refuse to return your phone calls or ackowledge your request to cancel a contract at any point.

DirectBuy is a rip-off, please do not be fooled. We are hard working middle class folks who thought it was a way to remodel our home with better than retail products at a lesser price, not so.

Now our house is empty, we are in collections with the finance company who paid Direct Buy for the contract and Direct Buy refuses to cancel the contract or return our calls.

Just Not Buying It Probably Isn't, Their Probably "Selling" it in affiliation w/ Direct Buy

My husband and I scheduled to go on one of these showroom tours. The operator scheduling it was rude and quick to get us off the phone to schedule someone else. I went ahead and scheduled thinking it was just the person having a bad day. However, we had to reschedule and the next woman acted like they were doing us a favor by allowing us to reschedule. She said they could only take so many people a week and would have to call me back early the following week. In the meantime, I decided to do some digging. REPEATEDLY I found complaint after complaint down to them making you remove your paper name tag and give it back if you refused to sign up. REPEATED complaints that they would not let you see the prices until you signed on the dotted line. Even undercover investigations I looked up on the company had the same complaints, one after another. When I find more negatives about a company than I can find positives (either should not be difficult to locate) then red flags go up. The ONLY positives I have seen are those posted like the above rebuttal "Just Not Buying It." I have found NO independent positive feedback about the company whatsoever.

The woman called me back and I told her we weren't interested.

As far as your rebuttle/ My guess is that you work for Direct Buy because what you are saying sounds like something direct buy would say. They only stated that they are in collection on the directbuy debt and nothing else as you are implying.

Also direct buy DOES sell to many people that cannot afford or have any need on gods green earth for thier services. And at about 40% interest to boot.. You and I both know that it is usuary but somehow they or you as I suspect get away with it.

I am a member of Direct Buy. I know how these people operate and they are a reputable company with very high standards and they expect that from their employees. First of all when you go through the open house they give you price comparisons so you can understand how Direct Buy works. You have every opportunity while you are there to compare prices. If you find an item for sale cheaper its probably because it is a discontinued item that a store may be trying to get rid of or you made a mistake and have the wrong item. Second, they make it very clear that you pay shipping and handling when you place an order. You would pay shipping and handling if you ordered any thing else from any company if it has to be shipped to you. Let's face it, not everything is free. Third, in the contract you signed it states there is a 3 day right to cancel, but it is supposed to be in writing. Did you do that? Did you even call to try to cancel? I know if I'm trying to cancel a contract and they don't answer the phones then I would go directly to the company and talk to the owner.
Finaly at last, if you are in collections with the finance company then you probably could not afford it in the first place. I'm not understanding why you have an empty house either. Don't point fingers when it's your responsiblity to take care of your business. Thank you and have a nice day!!
