Twins Van Lines Twins Moving and Storage Complete Rip Off! Rockville, Maryland

Stay away from this company! We received a quote to move our things 7 miles. The quote was $1259.10 to move a completely packed 4 bedroom home with finished basement. I made this very clear to the person on the phone.

They show up in a medium size Budget Rental truck, not nearly large enough. They get a second truck and now we are being charged for it as well. Our quote was for 4 men - 7 hours - total! It took them 7 hours just to load the truck. They have the truck loaded and give me a bill of $1605.00.

I make a call to the office - Tom - the owner has only 1 suggestion....pay the bill or we can unload the truck. By this time I have no choice but, to pay....now our things are taken to storage for a week and delivered back at another charge of $1650.00 to get our things back.

Due to the negligent way they handled our things....multiple pieces of furniture had large scratches, chips and multiple broken dishes (clearly marked as fragile). Because of the fact that we did not detect all of this damage while the movers were still here - completely impossible when there are 4 men coming and going dropping things everywhere - we could only file a claim for our dining table. The insurance company came back with an answer to pay us $240.00. We decided to take the loss as a lesson learned and agreed to the $240.00 settlement in January 2012. It is August 2012....we have never received a check - I called again today and Tom yelled at me and made it my problem! Nice!

Stay away from these guys....at all costs!
