If I had known that there was a web site to report these dastardly deeds I would have reported this long ago and hopefully save others from the terrible move we experienced.   We were told by the Better Business Bureau not to say anything otherwise WE COULD BE SUED!!!  I have come to the conclusion that the Better Business Bureau supports these businesses not because they are reputable but because they pay a fee to be listed with the Better Business Bureau.  SEE YOU IN JAIL!!

I would like to say first that because we had such a bad experience previously with Two Small Men With Big Hearts in a previous move I DID NOT want to use them again.  I found a brokerage, (AMT or 6354793 Canada Ltd.)   on the internet that referred and recommended me to Maple Leaf Moving.  I was given a quote and paid a Booking Deposit.

I was totally unaware and totally dismayed when the truck arrived on moving day to discover that it actually belonged to Two Small Men with Big Hearts.  I believe that Two Small Men had such a bad reputation in the area that they had to use another name to get jobs.

On June 21, 2007 Maple Leaf Moving, (Two Small Men with Big Hearts) came to our residence in Red Deer, AB to load our furniture and belongings to move them to Grand Forks, B.C.  Half way through loading, one of the workers quit leaving 1 man to load.  My husband who is  a senior and  had a broken foot had no option but to assist the driver in loading our stuff.  Maple Leaf Moving, (Two Small Men with Big Hearts),  did not send anyone to replace the fellow who quit.  Rob, the driver that remained on the job was getting increasingly aggitated, (swearing and throwing things around), we were worried he would walk off the job as well so we gave him supper.  After everything was loaded we paid Rob because we were not able to be in Grand Forks at the time of delivery.  Rob, (the driver) told me I could go to the office the next morning to obtain the weigh ticket.  The girl in the office searched and searched and couldn't find the weigh ticket.  Even though we were busy trying to get everything done to move, I sat in the office for a very long time waiting for her to find the weigh ticket or someone else to come in the office that would be able to tell her where it was.  No one found it.

So we are had no idea what the loaded weight was and what the charges should in fact be.   Rob charged us double the amount from what we were quoted.  When we arrived at our brand new home in Grand Forks, our furniture was precariously stacked on top of each other.  Every chair from our dining room suite is dented and scratched  We found our furniture broken, dented, and dirty.  Our brand new hardwood floors had been scraped, dented, and scratched.  The contractor who orginally laid the hardwood floors said the floor is so damaged that every bit of it should be taken up and replaced.  Walls had been dented and scratched.  There was items stacked on the kitchen counters causing scratches in that.  The legs on our book shelves were broken off, our brand new mattress was dirty and smudged with grease.  The legs on our couch were bent.

My husbands tools had been gone through and it was obvious that Rob, (the driver) was using my husbands electric drill.  Rob left his broken electric drill in our garage.  My husband knew what Rob's drill looked like because he helped Rob load our stuff.  There was boxes and plastic containers that were smashed and crushed, missing and bent knobs from my antique sewing machine cabinet, broken dishes and pictures.  The top of my antique secretary has deep gouges in the top. There isn't any furniture that hasn't been damaged in one way or another.  We used the heavy gauge boxes that the moving company sold us and heavy gauge plastic containers to pack our items in.  We did purchase moving insurance from the moving company to cover any loss or damage.  Considering all the damages to our belongings and new house we were offered $500.00 after paying a $250.00 deductable.

I agree with all of the other complaints.  These guys really do need to change their name.  Be careful, maybe they have.
