For the last two weeks, I have been getting harrassing phone calls from a "Miss Minzano" on four different occasions about a matter that has nothing to do with me. They are searching for a family member with my last name (different first name). No one by that name is on any of my accounts (or vice versa) , yet they insist I contact them about this "important matter."

Their last call was this morning, a Sunday, at 10:35am. Earlier this week I answered a "no name" call, whom I thought was my cousin, who is a retired detective and private investigator. The young voice on the other end said "Oh, um..." and I hung up. Immediately, they called back, left a voice message and it was "Miss Minzano" again (a different, yet distinctive voice with a "new yawk" accent), threatening this "person" who they were trying to contact to call them about an "important matter".

BTW, the "important matter" has already been settled between the person they are trying to locate, and the credit card company. It's done. This "Miss Minzano" isn't even certain that I know, in fact, who they are looking for. Yet this "Miss Minzano" continues to harrass me, trying to get to this person through me. I don't appreciate her invasion of my Sunday morning one bit.

I, too, have been harrassed by these idiots for the past couple of weeks. In my case it was an unpaid bill from Verizon. UBC told me it was for a cell phone, but turns out it was actually an early termination fee for internet access. I straightened out the problem with Verizon (they had been sending bills to the wrong address which is why it wasn't resolved earlier) and Verizon accepted complete responsibility for the mistake (the early termination fee should have been waived due to military deployment). Verizon said they'd contact UCB to clear this up.

I've tried explaining this to the morons who keep calling from UCB, but they've been incredibly rude and insist I pay the bill anyway to keep my credit record clean. This should be completely resolved in the next couple of days, but I am astonished at what lengths these people will go to; I have never been spoken to so rudely in my entire life.
