I went to pick up a Uhaul trailer in massachuttus to drive across the county to california. When i made  the reservation i was quoted $300 and change for the trip, i then gave him my credit card information and made the reservation got a number and everything. he said i could pay for the trailer at any time before pick up and it will be fine i made the reservation. then 4 days later when i went to pick up the traier i had reserved the guy working said it was actualy OVER $1200 and the reason the price jumped was because they are like airpane tickets he said and did not pay on the spot. "i later learned that was total BS" i then was forced to pay this rediclious price because i had no other choice because i had to leave in the morning. after 6 or 7 calls i finaly got a manager to review the calls to confim BOB did say $300 not $1200. She said she has to submit a claim and i will hear back in 48 hrs.... nothing! i then called back another several times and everytime they said they will leave a note and the manager would call me back, another week has gone by and nothing. i then refused to get off the phone and finaly the lady i spoke with said my claim had been filed but never assigned, now i have to wait another 72 hrs to possibly hear back from someone about it mean time i have spent over 10 hrs on the phone just trying to get someone to look in my direction. i have a book full of notes on my file that people always gasp at everytime i give them my reservation # and not no one cares to get back to me!!?? maybe its because they know they are wrong and owe me money or maybe they think it will go away. I am now in the possission to take legal action after all i have been thru and the way i was treated. if anyone  has any sugestions FOR me for LEGAL HELP, OR SIMMILAR SITUATIONS I WOULD LOVE TO TALK TO YOU, because i am not letting this go lightly. i dont even blog but i joined this site just because i feel people need to know. this company is the worst thing i have ever experianced!!! be warned!!!

 There may be no resolution due to one small fact. And that fact is that YOU DID NOT PAY FOR IT RIGHT THEN!!! A reservation is NOT a 100% guarantee that YOU are going to get what you want. People ASSUME that a reservation means its RESEVED for THEM when its more like a LIST of preferred customers who were smart enough to ensure that THEY wont be out in the cold by RESERVING ahead of time. Instead of scrambling at the last min to find a trailer. In some businesses, such as a restaurant, a reservation at a specific time would mean that YOU are expected to arrive at THAT time to be seated. If you arrive late, YOUR RESERVATION may go to someone else. It wouldn't be that the restaurant is "being mean". Its just good business sense to move on to the next reservation if someone is late. In a moving company a reservation means that if a truck IS available, its YOURS, but it IS dependant on OTHER customers. THOSE customers that delay in returning a truck, end up costing everyone else. Then trucks start becoming a premium item. hence why the rep told you that its like plane tickets. Sometimes in order to get that nice cheap flight, you HAVE to pay well in advance. Which is why I say you MAY never see a resolution. If you did not pay right when that person told you $300, then YOU put yourself at risk for paying a higher price when you DO go and pick it up. Im NOT saying that you don't have a right to be angry, because to SOME it sounds like they are shafting you. But I AM saying that given the climate of the economy, it wouldn't surprise me if Uhaul has raised their prices and YOU are just a victim of their price change. Still keep trying!!! Remember this IS a small claims case if YOU chose to file. Just make sure that before you DO file, that all those duckies are in a nice little row. Nothing sucks more then going to court and finding out that due to YOUR inability to get information or documentation that YOU end up losing your case and having to pay the court costs for the whole thing.
