UHAUL RIP OFF & FALSE INFORMATION NIPOMO & LOS ANGELES California

Two years ago, I rented a uhaul truck for my sister in law to move from Nipomo Calif to los angels WE PAID CASH. The truck was used and returned according to the scheduled time frame and a receipt was obtained, this was in October 2000. then in March of 2001, I received a call from U-Haul that they could not find the truck, the person that called me was Pat Rogers, in truck retrival, saying that the truck had never been returned, I remembered because I wrote her name down, because I was on my way to Oklahoma to visit my ailing father.

She said that she would check into this and take care of it, if I would send her a copy of the receipt, which I did. I had remembered that my father in law had returned the truck, and I informed her of this. And couple of weeks later she called me back and said they had found the truck that the rental agent in L.A. had messed up his paperwork and rerented the truck before checking it in fully. Then i did'nt hear anymore about it.

Then in june of this year 2003, i received a collection notice for 886.40 stating that i had better pay this or they were going to take me to court and have this listed on my credit bureau. i called U- Haul and spoke with Angie in the administration office as well as calling customer service. they recently sent me a bill saying they will graciously accept $ 443.20 if I pay it in 30 days. I am not paying them anything because I did lose their truck, they did. Why, should I have to keep going thru this when I did nothing wrong. U- Haul takes advantage of people and the tries to screw them over for more money not owed to them.
