I received a letter from Unicars Honda saying that if I come down to thier lot that I would receive a coupon for $20. in gas. I showed up at the time on the letter and was told that they didn't have any coupons. They said they would mail it to me, and give them my phone #.

3 weeks later I get a coupon in the mail that says I have to mail it in along with a gas receipt for $20 and a self addressed envelope, with postage. After doing this, I waited another 3 weeks and got 4 separate gas coupons that they wanted me to mail in, separately, with a gas receipt for $5 with each individual coupon, in 4 different envelopes, with postage times 4.

During this whole process, the calls from the salesmen at unicars Honda continued, relentlessly, even after I told them to stop calling me. I then called and spoke to Melanie, the lady that gave me the rain check the first day I went there to get my $20 in gas. She said that I should talk to the owner and let him know my dissatisfaction over the whole "gas voucher program-scheme". I then drove back to Unicars Hoda and spoke to the owner, someone named Andreas. I pointed out that the original letter I received said that if I came down to the lot that Saturday morning that I would receive $20 in free gas. It said nothing about the numerous vouchers and coupons that you had to keep sending in with separate copies of gas receipts and separate envelopes and postage.

I live 25 miles from Unicars Honda. I figured the gas it cost me to drive there and back 2 times along with the postage I've paid so far, and would continue to have to pay, to end up with $20 in gas they had promised, has cost me at least $20. When I tryed to explain this to the owner, Andreas, he just said I had to keep mailing in the separate vouchers to get the gas they had promised. I asked if he could just send me down the street to the gas station they deal with so I could get the gas they had promised. He said 'no way'.

This whole scam has one purpose only. To get you in there to give them your phone number so they can call you at all hours to solicit your business. They figure that most people won't expend the effort and spend the money for a mere $20. So, it ends up costing Unicars Honda only the cost for the bulk mailings.

It's fraudulant and misleading and they should be forced to stop the scam.
