I received an offer from Union Workers Credit Service for a platinum credit card with a $10,000 credit limit.  I did not respond to the offer because I immediately seen that the letter was a scam.  I am reporting this company for the sake of others that might receive this letter to be aware of this scam.   A true credit offer from a legit financial institution will base your credit line on your credit report score and does charge a fee for the credit card.  If the credit card is based on a secured credit line, the financial institution will make it known.  Financial institutions will not give a P.O. Box for an address and require more than just a signature.  Take the time to research the financial institution if it is not a well known company such as Wells Fargo or Bank America.  These scam artist can reverse or scramble the name of a legit financial institution to make them look like the real thing, so beware and take the time to research the offer.  Keep safe and don't let the scam be you.

Not really a "credit card", it is catalog shopping

AUTHOR: Steve - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, June 11, 2011

You cannot compare this "credit card" to anything Wells Fargo or Bank of America would offer.

Any credit card you would get from either one of these banks would be Visa or Mastercard branded.

This "Union Workers Credit Service" is nothing but catalog shopping.

They are NOT offering any kind of "major" credit card.

Read the offer again, pay particular attention to the fine print.

Nowhere on that page does it say the word "Visa" or "Mastercard".

They are offering catalog shopping, and to make it worse, you need to pay a "deposit" when you place an order which covers the shipping and the actual cost of the junk product. They only "finance" the markup.

That is the real deal.

Run fast.

If there really is an  "annual fee" or whatever, an "honest" card company would just tack that on to your first statement, NO money upfront.
