When I received their offer, I was skeptical but have poor credit and limited income of disability and wanted to be able to make purchases I can pay on monthly. I should have paid attention to the fact that they did not list a telephone number on the approval letter so you can call with any questions.

It took them a month to deposit the check (which I had forgotten about) and when they did, I still didn't receive anything in the mail. I tried to pull up their website, but kept getting an error message. I finally found their phone number on Yelp and when I called (being on hold for 20 minutes) was told package was sent out last week and I should receive it in 2 weeks. When did mail ever take that long. When I asked about the website, the call was disconnected after she claimed it must be my browser.

I feel totally scammed and will definitely listen to my instincts next time. If it sounds too good, it's not. As I stated, I am surviving off of disability and $37 makes me want to cry. This has messed it up for legitimate companies who really want to help people purchase the things they want but can't get because of credit problems.

How Were You "Scammed"?

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 20, 2013

If they do what they said they will do (even if it takes two weeks), how were you scammed?  I assume you are aware of exactly what you are getting?  You will not receive a major credit card...just an account to be used ONLY with their catalog.  No where in their offer did they say you would receive a major credit card.  Secondly, if the $37 is so much of a hardship, perhaps you shouldn't even be obligating yourself to even more financial responsibility.  No, I don't work for them.
