I was charged $7.14/ gal of Propane on 9/15/2010.
The price for Propane in the State of Maryland on 9/15/2010 was $2.946

That is an overcharge of 242%!

UNITED PROPANE - Consumer Robbery....

OKAY, so tell me if i'm the crazy one here, but my 100 gal. tank went dry last week -- had to have it filled ... 102 gallons cost me $569.00 -- -that's $5.55 a gallon. Has anyone else experienced crazy pricing like this?? I called another local company and their "market rate" right now is $4.00... I called United in St.Leonard and complained about the price and my billing - the woman there said that it might have been a "computer error" -- that there was a computer glitch or something and she would pass a note to the branch manager to call me. YES...please do have him call me - because i AM NOT paying that price for propane when other companies market rates are $1.50-1.65 LESS... they're craaaazy!!! NO WAY. just curious if anyone else has had this issue with them... or am i the only lucky one out here. I guess I will see just how bad their computer glitch was. UGH!

United Propane continues to be a Ripoff, Scam Artist

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 26, 2011

United Propane which continues to  charged extortion prices for product and services. Has now plugged the propane tank they installed, even thought I paid for the product they delivered at a fair ( average rate) price at time of the delivery.

They are threating to sue over late payment fee and have hired an attorney out of Ohio, which is not my state. Go figure?
And now I read( from www.ripoffreport.com) if you request a removal of propane tank , they delay removal to continue the Extortion plan they have devised.

I also read the same Extortion Plan of installing and overpricing for non- volume customers is Standard Procedure for Propane Companies, all across the USA.

A state for federal agency should investigate Propane Companies as to concluded if their practices are legal. Until I receive a court subpoena, which I look forward to, to shad light on the underhanded practices, I will remain in boycott.

And you should too!
