I went through the United States Postal Service website and chose domestic first class mail in a large envelope and the weight was .05lb. It said the cost is 0.49. I added and extra .047 stamp. That is two stamps at .047 totaling .094. The rate for one pound states 1.48 cent. My package was suppose to cost .049 because it was only .05lbs.

Their site rated this not I. Again I even paid more and now they are charging my friend an additional 1.43 to pick her package up at the zip code 62995 from my zip code that I sent it from at 98059.

Now that is complete corrupt dishonesty. The price for one pound is $1.48 and it was again only .05lb in weight. So what a one pound package that would cost $1.48 and it was a .05lb package is costing a total of $1.43 they are charging her to pick it up plus my $.94 that I already paid. That is a total of $2.37 which if it would have been one pound would have only costed $1.48. Now that is corrupt. I know it is not much that they are over charging but they should not set up their site calculations and than go against it and charge even more than the weight amount that was paid for in their calculations.

Your numbers don't make sense. You say your envelope weighed .05 lb. Is this supposed to be 1/2 pound? If it is, the rate is not 49 cents. How much stuff did you have in this envelope? A large envelope with 1 or 2 pieces of paper would be 49 cents. That's it. If it was 5 ounces, it is 1.29. If it is 8 ounces(1/2 pound), that rate is 1.98. To use the postal service website, you must know the weight of the package exactly.
