WARNING: united states van lines are cons and rip-offs.Me and my wife fell victim to these thieves, moving from washington state to tucson arizona. My wife contacted united states van lines in november 2010 about moving to tucson.Around december 18th my wife contacted united states van lines for a confirmed move date and to do a itemized list of our household goods. My wife talked to Robert Igneri, the estimated weight was 3,342 lbs. witch required a deposit of $974.06 with a balance due at delivery of $1,388.88.

We were told a pick-up date of 01-27 or 01-28-2010. We wanted the 27th since we were driving to tucson and had to be there on feb.1 2011. Robert told me and my wife he would be there for us throughout this move. Robert conviently dissapeared after that . On January 26,2011 my wife gets a phone call from Alvin Garcia at united states van lines to go over a final itemized list,we forgot to add two items,a bakers rack and a cedar chest (approximatly 300 lbs.).We were told that now our weight was 4669 lbs. witch now required another deposit of $682.77.

We still didn't know when the truck was going to be there. On Jan.27 i called united states van lines to find out when the truck was going to be there.I was able to talk to Robert,he didnt know nothing except will the 29th work.I told him that was totaly unexceptible, the truck was supposed to be there on the 27th or the latest on the 28th.On our way to Tucson my wife got a phone call from customer service saying $2,562.71 was due at time of delivery. We were in total shock. The company who picked up and delivered our belongings WAS NOT United states van lines.

Our belingings arrived on 02-11-2011.When the truck driver arrived he had no body to help him unload our stuff. After 4 hours of waiting 2 men showed up to unload our stuff. We ended up with damages. Our new entertainment center was damaged and our 32"flat screen tv was broke beyond fixing.Something had been pushed or shoved up against the screen.I called alvin garcia about these damages. All he did was talk in circles about nothing trying to blow smoke up my a*s.

He directed my call to customer service and the woman who answered my call said that wasn't there problem, and to call the moving company.I did not hire homestead moving systems, united states van lines did.All united states van lines wants to do is take your money and take NO RESPONSIBILITY and point fingers elsewhere.Oh yeah there customer service stinks my wife was hung up on twice by there fine customer service repesentives.I am reporting these RIP-OFFS to any one and everyone. If you are moving STAY AWAY FROM UNITED STATES VAN LINES.

Consumers can help identify noncompliant household goods movers by calling FMCSA's nationwide complaint hotline,
1-888-368-7238 (1-888 DOT-SAFT) or by visiting http://nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov. Prior to selecting a household goods carrier, consumers should also visit FMCSAs www.protectyourmove.gov for information on planning a successful move and to search movers and their complaint history.
