My husband and I attended a presentation for United Vacation Network in March, 2006. During the presentation, we were told repeatedly that UVN specializes in cruises and that we would be able to purchase cruises at huge discounts through them. They also provided 2 weeks per year that can be used at any resort in the world for $399 per week for a one-bedroom.

I have tried 3 times to book travel through United Vacation Network, but have been unsuccessful. I tried to book a cruise the first 2 times, but was given prices that were about $800 per person higher than what I could find on the internet. I also could not get them to return my phone calls for weeks. The agent finally told me that they do not specialize in cruises, and that whoever told me that was incorrect. I then spoke to the manager and asked to cancel my membership and get a refund, but was repeatedly threatened by the fact that they have a lawyer and I signed a contract, and that they will take me to court and force me to pay. I told them that the contract required me to pay, and it required them to provide a service that they were not providing, but that did not change.

I later faxed them a request to use one of my "weeks" to book a resort in Hawaii for January, but all they did was provide me a partial list of hotels in the area and their rates. When I reminded them that I was trying to use one of my "weeks", they did not contact me again.

I have paid over $4500 for this membership and have tried 3 times to book travel though them, but have been unsuccessful every time. We now know that this was a scam, and now that they have our money, they no longer care about providing the service they promised. Although their new manager, Christy seems nice and promises to provide good service, she fails to deliver and has also been unable to get me any discount travel.

This company may have promised discounted travel, but does not deliver on that promise.

United Vacation Network

POSTED: Wednesday, August 15, 2007

We have thousands of satisified members that we service on a daily basis. Our memberships are designed to save time and money when planning vacations. All of our members are provided with their membership material at the time of purchase with guidelines for each memebership. The comment above states that ripoff is a site for those to list complaints; well I like to know how does a consumer verify if the complaint is logic and not fabricated.

How do consumers know that the comments posted are true events, not just one individual possing as different consumers posting the same complaint over and over. Finding any information about our company should have consumers at a relief that they are dealing with a company large enough to be found on the web.

I can look up any company on this site and find complaints posted against them; that doesn't mean they are not a reputable company it just means that someone purchased red and then decided they wanted green.

The individual that calls themselve Public Citizen who knows who they are, if their claims are so accurate why do they not come forward and announce who they are. It sounds as if they are the ones hiding behind their attempt to slander a reputable company.

We want all of our members to remain satisfied and we go over and beyond expectations to make sure that happens. United Vacation Network has continually built its reputation as a leader within the travel industry and we continually strive to remain at the top.

United Vacation Network specialized in all forms of travel be it cruises, hotels, car rentals, airfare, tour packages, and condo bookings. We offer economy travel that amounts to deeply discounted prices. Our travel department guarantees our members the lowest possible rate at the time of booking for all of their leisure travel.

We have several senior agents specialized in each field of the travel industry to assist our members with their vacation planning. Members can receive discounts with the travel department on our web-site under our specials that are not available to anyone in the general public.

Our resort weeks are set priced travelable to destinations all over the world. They have guidelines that must be followed in order to guarantee fulfillment. In the event that hotels are offered for a resort request it is due to the request not being submitted with enough notification for fulfillment.

We do everything possible to make sure that we send each of our members on vacation. We return all of our phone calls within the same business day no later than the very next. We stand behind any and all promises that we make and to ensure our members of that every promise is in black in white within their membership agreement.
