   I am seeking an advice or an atorney who would help to initiate class action lawsuit against these 2 companies (Universal is a subcontractor that administered Stanley's warranty plans). I saw there was another report posted on Ripoff Report on 11/14/2013 07:37 AM with similar complaint and I am sure there are many,many more customers. The ratings for this company on google are 1.7 out of 5 and all are from dissatisfied customers, for example:

   "This company has not paid us for work we completed in January even though they agreed to pay upon completion. If there was lower rating we would use it. In our opinion any work that you do for this company may as well be charity. We are currently forwarding our experience to the Attorney Generals' offices, Secretaries of State, Contractors Boards for Oregon, Washington, California, and Kentucky as well as reviewing direct litigation options."


   "As a service provider waited for over 10 months for payment from universal administrators. I was lied to several times "the check is in the mail" several times. I wasted at least 5 hours of my time trying to get paid from these crooks. Jack the CEO is never in to answer phone calls and never returns your messages left. I would never do business with them again"

   My own experience with them is the same as others report. I have submitted approved claim for the microwave paayout in February of 2013 and was not able to get in touch with anyone - after calling for 3 months and leaving multiple voice messages for different people. I wasted probably over 8 hours trying to contact them over the past year. I contacted BBB in August 2013, and Jack W. replied that they would process my microwave claim - it was in September 2013, and now already January 2014 and no check. I cancelled policy that was renewed wthout my consent and it took miltuple calls to get refund processed.

   In addition, we have submitted additional work orders and claims for 2 properties covered under this warranty and never received any service or reimbursements requested in line with authorized services. This company is a  scam and needs to be brought to justice by many users it has scammed and taken advantage of! Both of these companies lie constantly, waste customers time and take money, and their customer service reps are rude and obnoxious.  I want to know if a class action lawsuit can be filed against them and how to get in on it!

The Truth about Universal Administrators and Sentinel Home Warranty

I was a consumer of Universal Administrators, but I originally signed up with Sentinel Home Warranty. Upon signing up through Sentinel Home Warranty, I was told that all I would have to pay was $72.60 per month. If I had to file a claim, I would not have to pay a service fee, nor would I have to pay anything to have the appliance, wiring, etc. repaired. And, if the referenced item was not repairable, or would cost more to repair it than to replace it, I would not have to pay anything for the item to be replaced. I thought it was a great deal, so I agreed to sign up with the company. I honestly thought I was signing up with Sentinel Home Warranty. However, I later found out that Sentinel was just an underwriter for Universal Administrators. I also found out that it was not Sentinel Home Warranty nor Universal Administrators who was taking my payment every month. The company who took my payments was Crast, Incorporated.


When my first payment was made, I noticed that it was not being taken by Sentinel Home Warranty, but by this Crast, Incorporated. I figured that this company just collected the monthly payments for Sentinel, but that if I needed to file a claim, it would be filed through Sentinel. However, I was wrong about that as well. When I called to file a claim on my dishwasher, I found out that I had to file it through Universal Administrators. That should have clued me in on the fact that they were nothing but scam artists out to take as much money from me as they possibly could.


A few months after signing up for the home warranty, I had to file a claim on our dishwasher, which had taken a dump. I called the claims number and found out that Universal Administrators would be handling the claim. It took them nearly a week to get a repairman to call me to schedule an appointment for him to come out and take a look at the dishwasher. I had to call Universal Administrators a second time just to find out if a repairman had been called. They told me I should be hearing from Sears any day now.


I know enough about Sears to know that if they had been called right away, they would have called me by the next day to schedule an appointment for one of their repairmen to come take a look at the dishwasher. However, it wasn't until after the second call to Universal Administrators that the Sears repairman called to schedule the appointment.


The repairman who came out took a look at the dishwasher and determined that it was not repairable. He tried calling Universal Administrators to get payment for the service call, and to let them know that the dishwasher was not repairable, but no one was in to answer the phone.


I eventually found out that Universal Administrators had not paid the service fee as they were supposed to. The reason I know this is because I was sent a bill for the service fee. I also found out that, even though I was told otherwise, the purchase of a new dishwasher was only covered at $150. That was a far cry from what I was originally told when I first signed up with their company.


I then tried to cancel my account with Universal Administrators and was told I had to fax a written cancellation letter directly to Sentinel, and they gave me the fax number. I faxed in my cancellation letter in plenty of time to cancel prior to the next payment being due. And yet, they took the payment anyway. I was livid when I found out about this. I then called Sentinel to find out why they took another payment after I had cancelled my account with them.


Sentinel informed me that I would need to call Universal Administrators and cancel my account through them. I did as I was told, and found out that all I had to do to cancel was email my cancellation letter to them, and they in turn would email them to Sentinel. I was not charged this month, so the cancellation must have gone through. However, they stole over $800 from me, money I would like to get back. That includes the purchase of the dishwasher and to have it installed, plus every payment that was taken from me when they refused to reimburse me for the dishwasher.


Since I have not received another invoice from Sears, they must have received their payment, but it took several months for them to receive it. And each month they sent me an invoice letting me know the service fee of $79.95 had not been paid. I haven't received an invoice in the last couple of months, so, by deduction, they must have received it.


Now I would like to receive the money that I believe is rightlyfully mine because I was lied to, had money stolen from me, and did not receive reimbursement for the dishwasher even though I've requested reimbursement many times.


So, when you say that many people lie about ripoff companies, and that those companies really don't rip people off, you don't know what you are talking about. I am not a liar, and even have proof of what I've stated in this report. If anyone wants to see that proof, I can produce it at any time. But don't call people liars when you don't know what their story is. You may later find out that what they were saying is true, and that you will be on the end of that stick, being ripped off by the same company you are trying to protect.

In fact, if you type Universal Administrators into Google search which is what I did - you see all of the reviews. The issue is that there are no positive ones. As my report states the rating this provider has is 1.7 out of 5, and all of the ratings are counted, not only negative ones. Their rating on BBB is also bad. I have dealt with many warranty companies as a home owner and also as a landlord and TRUST me - this company is a scam. I do not see what reason you have to defend them or what evidence you have that they are a good company or even an average company. As to cancellation of my policy - they had 11 month to pay out my claim before I cancelled - since February 2013. I think it is "a bit" excessive" whether they dragged their feet or not .....

Your problem is that you have made an assumption as to what they will cover. Then by cancelling your contract with them, you made it so they can drag their feet. As you are NO LONGER a customer, anything that they pay out now is a gift, even if you filed a claim IN THE PAST. They can ONLY deal with whats on their plate TODAY. Note that ALL insurance companies drag their feet while paying. Its a common practice to keep the money until the very last day they have to legally pay out. So by cancelling your account, they are under no legal liability to pay out on a past claim WITHOUT a judgment. All they have to do is say they denied your claim for whatever reason. So long as you were still a customer they had NO CHOICE but to deal with you, but once YOU cancelled, you pretty much closed the door on getting any payouts.

Also, much like your post, the only reviews YOU were looking for were NEGATIVE ones. The American Consumer feels its perfectly all right to lie to get their way. When you see those negative comments, you need to use a little common sense and NOT take every word at face value. The individual who is posting could be lying through their teeth, if you just buy into that lie without doing research all you do is empower the person lieing. See since there is ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY on the web, ANYONE can say ANYTHING they wish. Be it the truth or not. Then they post anonymously so as to hide themselves from any legal repercussions. So lesson is dont believe everything you read on the web. Theres a very good chance that the post you are reading is a LIE. And that the business in question did not do anything wrong except piss someone off.
