I am writing on behalf of someone who doesn't speak or understand English very well. This is her story with Universal Funpass......

She was called one morning and told that she had won a trip. The next thing she knew she was providing her credit card. She didn't understand why until she received her VISA statement and was charged $428 USD. She was charged for a travel package to Florida. English is not her native language and she is in Canada on a work permit only. The fact that she can't even leave Canada (work permit only) to go to the States proves she didn't know what she was agreeing too.

I looked on the internet to find information on this company and low and behold there was nothing other than customers who have been through the same nightmare. I then proceeded to call the number that was on the confirmation email she received. To my surprise, Universal Funpass employees were NOT helpful on the phone and have obviously been trained well to understand how to rebuttal to these any type of customer complaints.

Universal Funpas had a scripted answer for every question I asked. What I found really odd was that there was no manager on the site and no one could help other than the one person you were speaking to. In any reputable organization you can ask to speak to the onsite Manager during any type of call. That was clue number one as the people I was talking to were obviously home based employees and therefore didn't care what I had to say because if they did reverse the VISA charge they would lose their percentage of the sale.

I have to admit that this was the most despicable conversation(s) I think I have ever had with anyone in my personal and professional career.

I spoke with Samantha Brown ID#2483 and she found her to be the rudest person I have ever dealt with. She was argumentative and extremely defensive in everything I questioned. She proceeded to playback the call that was recorded at the time of providing the VISA. I don't know how anyone could listen to the playback of this call and in conscience tell me that this person wasn't taken advantage of.

Universal Funpass manipulated and guided the entire conversation. There was no room for any questions to be had. When they were verifying the information taken, my friend asked; how much? and the call representative completely ignored this question and moved on.

Universal Funpass (Samantha Brown) then told me that due to the lack of understanding on my friend's part, they actually went slower on this call. Slower on what? English or the process of what they were agreeing to?

Okay, help me out here, you just admitted that there was a slow understanding on the call and you still went through the process to have someone agree to something that they didn't necessarily understand. Does that seem fair to you?

What I would like to know is WHO do you complain to within this organization about the false promise, fraudulent activity and the unprofessional and rude behaviour that Universal Funpass depicts?

Universal Funpass is unethical and I can't believe there employees can sleep at night knowing they are taking something away from someone. Pride and money.

How can a business of this nature can be in operation? Is there no laws to protect consumers from this type of misrepresentation?

This story began at the beginning of December 2008 and to date, she has not received her information in the mail regarding her so called Universal Funpass Package.

I am hoping that Ripoff report can help her in this matter as $428 USD is a lot of money especially when she works for a living to support her family back home. So Universal Funpass has actually screwed two families in this process.

Moral of this story: NEVER PROVIDE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY STATE YOU WON A FREE TRIP.

Learn from our mistake and I hope others do not follow. Universal Funpass is a total scam and you will not receive anything for this so called vacation package OTHER than a horrible experience.
