Universal Limousine & Private Car, Inc. We hired this company for Prom service on May 3. The company showed up over an hour late with a filthy car to pick up 12 kids. They neglected to show up to pick them up! We tried to negotiate but are now in court. We are trying to locate this company which had "ghost" offices Saint Charles Illinois

We hired this company for prom service. They showed up late with a messy car and almost made the children late for prom. The real tragedy starts at midnight when the limo neglected to show up to pick the children up! We waited until 1:10a.m. and after several frantic calls from many parents, we ended up having to pick up the children ourselves. The driver had the nerve to show up at 1:30a.m. while parents were loading the kids in the cars.

I tried repeatedly to reason with this company via phone calls and subsequently the BBB to no avail. I ended up filing in small claims court, but as of yet were unable to serve this company because as it turns out they have a "ghost" office. (Per the Kane County Sheriffs Dept.) I have found many other complaints, now that I am looking, of others who shared the same fate as I.

I have been exploring many avenues to try and track this company down and am pretty close. I am trying to locate them before the next court date. I will not rest until I hold this company accountable, as any other citizen would be.

Please avoid any dealings with this company who has "shady " practices, poor service and apparently no recourse for the honest consumer to receive any retribution in the event you need it.

I'm sorry, I was not aware that your company actually responded to anything, given the fact that you had multiple chances to present your "side" in court and neglected to show up.

First, I would like to address the "asking to come back because of a hair appointment" lie.  You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to offer that lame lie considering I had 8 additional parents waiting with their children for over an hour and a half for your driver, one who happens to be a Captain on the Chicago Police Force!  I am fairly certain her sworn & notorized statement is not a lie.  Not to mention all the empty bottles and cans along with unmarked pills on the limo floor. (which we have pictures of if you care to see them)

Before the kids got out of the limo, my daughter was then notified of a later time to be picked up and us parents spent hours trying to contact your company to verify the pick-up time was midnight.  Then your driver failed to show at that time, and no one answered the phone from the repeated frantic calls of 5 sets of parents!  Secondly, I still have the call recorded, with date & time of 12:50a.m. from Christine stating that the limo was on it's way.  Now I ask you, how would that be if I "supposedly" cancelled the limo at 10:30?  I would absolutely LOVE to hear the "supposed" recording you have of these fictitious conversations. 

I'm sorry, I should mention you DID in fact offer a free ride to the airport.  Given I didn't rent your limo for me, but for these kids, taking it would be wrong.  Also, who in their right mind would EVER take a ride to an airport from YOU!  Most people plan on making a flight on time and I somehow suspect that might be a problem with a company such as yours.

My question to you is; Where were you, or a representitive from your company, for ANY of the court dates? (Case #08 M5 977 Bridgeview)  You were served and failed to show up so many times that the Judge Janet Adams Broshanhah #1847 awarded me an X-Parte Default Judgement for $500.00 and $276.19 for court fees, which you have yet to pay.  As a note, you should be aware that the statements you submitted above that have no basis in fact are considered as libel, and unless you want to find yourself facing another court case, I suggest you remove them immediately!

AS THE OWNER OF UNIVERSAL LIMOUSINE, OUR NUMBER 1 PRIORITY IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.  SO, FIRST AND FOREMOST, MY APOLOGIES TO MS. BOOKNER FOR HER INCONVENIENCE ON THE DATE OF SERVICE.  UPON REVIEWING THE INCIDENTS THAT TOOK PLACE:

OUR NEW STRETCH ARRIVED AT THE SCHEDULED TIME TO THE CUSTOMER'S HOME. 

MS. BOOKER RELAYED TO THE DRIVER THAT THE GIRLS WERE NOT READY TO GO, THEY WERE DELAYED BY A HAIR APPOINTMENT.

MS. BOOKER ASKED THE DRIVER TO RETURN 45 MINUTES LATER SO THE GIRLS WOULD HAVE TIME TO GET READY.

THE DRIVER DID RETURN PER HER REQUEST 45 MINUTES LATER, HOWEVER THE DELAY IT TOOK FOR THE GIRLS TO GET READY, RESULTED IN THE PASSENGERS ARRIVING LATE TO THEIR OWN PROM.

MS. BOOKER'S CONVERSATION WITH DISPATCH WAS RECORDED AND SHE REQUESTED THE DRIVER RETURN 45 MINUTES LATER.

AT 8PM, MS BOOKER PHONED DISPATCH REQUESTING A FREE NIGHT OF TRAVEL BECAUSE THE KIDS ARRIVED LATE TO THEIR PROM.  MANAGEMENT DECLINES SINCE THE CLIENT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DELAY THAT EVENING.

UPSET WITH THE ENTIRE SITUATION, MS. BOOKER CANCELLED HER RETURN FOR THE KIDS AT 10:30PM, STATING THAT THE KIDS DIDN'T WANT THE STRETCH AFTER ALL.

OUR POLICY IS 24 HOUR CANCELLATION FOR ALL PROMS AND THIS OBVIOUSLY DID NOT MEET THAT CRITERIA.  UNFORTUNATELY, OUR DRIVER WAS ALSO IN THE PARKING LOT AT THE PICK UP LOCATION SINCE 10:00PM.  AND MS. BOOKER WAS CHARGED FOR A NO LOAD.

IN THIS INDUSTRY, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.  WE DID OFFER MS. BOOKER A COMPLIMENTARY RIDE FOR HER FAMILY TO THE AIRPORT, BECAUSE SHE WAS UNHAPPY WITH THE ENTIRE NIGHT.  HOWEVER , SHE DECLINED.

Well, I can't encourage anyone reading this update to avoid this company more. Through various agencies, and many court dates, I have found that this company does everything in it's power to avoid compensating breeched contracts. Not only did they ruin Prom for my daughter and her entire party, they have cost us $500.00 in the money they took with no services rendered, and an additional $275.00 in court costs. It is irrevelant that the court found in my favor because this company never attended any of the dates. I have been unable to serve them with the judgement because they have successfully avoided any further papers being served. In fact, the sheriff assigned to serve them admitted that they have been at this address many time to serve them multiple lawsuits. The only "legal address" they have listed is their official Agent is Mr Yuri Shapiro @ 607 LYON CT. Buffalo Grove Il 60089. (In case anyone else is suing) Any other addresses listed for their various business addresses are only post office boxes. Please, do not deal with this company! Any problems, you have no recourse. I have also updated the status with the Better Business Bureau. Good Luck and pick another company!
